Casarufolo Paradise

A true taste of paradise! I cannot praise Casarufolo Paradise highly enough! A wonderfully traditional, immaculately clean, characterful property perched on the hills overlooking Sorrento and Vesuvius just a perfect location ! As for the host Gianluigi, simply the most warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming host imaginable! I hope to return to this idyllic location and accommodation time and time again! I would recommend to anybody !!

Paradiso is the right word for this accommodation. The views are breathtaking and its distance outside of the town of Sorrento mean it is peaceful and full of nature sounds. Gianlugi was a perfect host making sure that we had everything we needed and kindly collecting us from Sorrento in the evenings. It is a steep walk to and from the town but we expected this and had come to walk so this was fine. Recommend walking further up the hill to the lovely village of St Agata whilst on the stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the shared space for breakfast was lovely. I will be returning.

This was such a find - high above Sorrento but a 20 minute walk into the centre - it’s a very narrow steep & windy road up to Paradise - I wouldn’t recommend you drive other than as a passenger with Gianluigi - amazing host - & trust him - he’s well used to the journey. Gianluigi also provides lifts back up in the evening @ 21h 22h & 23h & will fit around you for anything else you need. He picked us up off the Capri ferry & engenders a great atmosphere with his guests. Breakfast is fabulous on the balcony, with wonderful views, great coffee, fresh bread with Gianluigi’s home made olive oil & home grown tomatoes. He was able to give good advice about spending our time in Sorrento & our trip to Pompei by train - all very easy.

If you love nature and getting away from the crowds and the traffic and the noise, this place is an absolute gem. Incredible views of Sorrento. The owner of Casarufalo Paradise is an amazing host and goes above and beyond. He MADE our stay in Sorrento and honestly was so kind to us. This is a no frills kind of place but you will get a real experience away from the crowds. The setting is magical amidst the olive and fruit trees. Just a 5 minute ride or 20 minute walk down and you are in town. Clean, basic, nice cooler air up in the mountains. I would definitely go back here.

The place is fantastic. It's a small family-owned hotel in a relatively remote location but still pretty close to everything. The owners are super friendly. Gian Luigi presses his olive oil from the olives growing around the house. Yes, you will get a chance to taste it. The area has a very country-type feeling. The roosters will wake you up in the morning. While our family greatly liked it, I would not recommend "Casarufolo Paradise" to everyone. If you want a more generic chain hotel experience, this place is not for you. Also, if you drive a bigger car, then you have to warn you. Our A3 barely fit the road to the hotel.

We loved our stay at this B&B! Gianluigi and his wife were so kind and very helpful in providing us recommendations of Sorrento and making us feel at home. We had our own private room with our own bathroom and shower products and everything was clean and comfortable. Every morning we got to eat outside on the terrace overlooking all of Sorrento as they bring you our fresh bakery goods and coffee and this delicious Italian juice. Additionally, the walk down from the place to the main town of Sorrento is a steep but beautiful 20 minute walk, and to get back up to the place, Gianluigi and/or his wife comes down the mountain to come shuttle you up in their car. Sorrento is a hard place to drive with many turning and tight roads, especially up the mountain, but it was clear that Gianluigi and his wife were very comfortable with the drive and could do it with ease. The first ride up was exhiliarating and unexpected, but then you get used to it and it becomes commonplace. It was also nice because we got to meet other people staying at the hostel. There was a honeymooning couple, an older couple, and a solo traveling woman, all of whom were very pleasant and nice! Gianluigi spoke very good Italian, English, and Spanish which made it easy. I would recommend this place to anyone— it feels like you’re getting to stay in an Italian villa!

Awful! The host is a professional conman. We stayed for one night and had to leave early the next morning. The rooms are old. It is up a very steep mountain which makes you reliant on the host to take you to and from Sorrento. He is as absolutely not bothered about us leaving and refused to refund us for the 3 remaining nights. The beds are uncomfortable. The view is not as stunning, in my opinion, as everyone makes out it is. The most Gianluigi made inappropriate comments to my friend; which was totally not okay and actually made her very scared and felt unsafe. The breakfast is not handmade - it’s two pieces of bread, two brioche buns and the offer of cornflakes and packaged yoghurt - nothing handmade at all. Overall, do yourself a favour and book another hotel. It should be removed from all booking sites. I don’t usually write bad reviews but the experience was bad enough I felt the need to warn others against this B&B.

very misleading photes. terrible state of rooms and un clean. the host just wipes the cutlery and reuses them for other guests without washing. also we have a 1 year old and we paid before going and then at the end of our stay charged us an extra 50euros.

The best part of our stay at Carasufolo was the view and our host, Gianluigi, who did his best to make our stay comfortable. As mentioned by others, he picked us up from the train station and assisted with getting you up & down the mountain but obviously don’t expect Gianluigi to be at your beck and call. I was aware of the location and read the previous reviews about how steep the hill was to walk but I didn’t expect it to be as tough as it was. Hiking shoes would be best for this walk - either going up (40 mins) or down the hill (20 mins). I love walking but this was definitely much more treacherous than I planned for my vacation. Gianluigi is nice enough to take you down in the morning if he can and offers a daily pick up at 10 or 11pm at a meeting spot at the base of the mountain. This is fine if you plan to spend the whole day out. Don’t make the mistake we did of taking a taxi to come up earlier. We did this and the taxi dropped us at the base of the mountain saying the road was too narrow & steep for his car! This 5 minute drive from the city centre cost us €18 and we still had to hike up the mountain in the dark - terrible experience! I would recommend ensuring you find a small taxi that can take you up the mountain if you plan to use the taxi option. The property itself has a stunning view of the city! The accommodations are comfortable but basic - the tv didn’t work in our room and there’s no a/c. A local rooster woke us up every morning - cute but annoying if you want to sleep in a little. You’re up in the mountains so I guess these things can be expected and gives you an authentic experience. Bring your own electric plug converters as well. Breakfast was bread, coffee & juice on the cute breakfast patio. Overall, the property has great views and Gianluigi is lovely and tries his best to make you comfortable but the location is definitely a challenge.
