It was cold and the radiators and towel rail weren’t working. The TV didn’t work. The shower was held together with sellotape. The shower was also rubbish. The toilet was installed so the seat wouldn’t stay up. The door to the room didn’t open properly. Overall terrible experience.

Initially was taken aback how small the (single) room was. No wardrobe/closet - was staying for 5 nights so had appropriate amount of clothes etc & had to keep most in suitcase. However the room was very clean & the bed extremely comfortable. I do think a telephone directed to taxi firms should be available or at least a number displayed/details left in rooms - I had to call taxis for two sets of guests (Italian & German) who were going to cruise terminals! I felt like an unpaid receptionist! But the staff I had contact with were lovely & very helpful

Great little place,only here for one night as picking up a cruise. It's a great location,very close to the port and lots of pubs and eateries. The staff are fabulous,we had a great night in the bar, which is attached and owned by the same guy. Would definitely stay again

Worse place I’ve ever stayed – felt very unsafe – do they even have a current electrical safety inspection certificate or fire safety inspection certificate?? It’s a warren of beaten up multiple stair cases & corridors , there was No Emergency Evacuation information displayed. Inadequate/lack of emergency escape route signage, none of which was illuminated signage, given the many twists & turns to get to the room/s this really should be addressed. I cant imagine what would happen in an emergency! None of the equipment in the room had been PAT tested (no stickers as proof of test ever being carried out. 2/2 bedside lamps were broken, the electric shower was old & inadequate, made worse by the hose holder being broken, lots of mildew in and around the shower. Generally the décor in the room is old and damaged/worn, the stairs & corridor are far worse (the website pictures do not represent the actual conditions in the room) Positioned above an Indian restaurant & pub, its smelly at times and extremely noisy. Throughout the night and early hours theres continual traffic noise, the curtains barely fitted so we couldn’t black out the street lights either. Definitely not a place to stay to get a good nights sleep and the front door code access and room access felt very insecure, even put our case against the inside of our door! Parking was a public car park across the street. There were restaurants & bars a short walk from the ‘hotel’.

I booked a room here as I wanted a simple room near the centre of town for one night and the cost was cheaper than other hotels I had researched. The room was basic, but had all I needed for one overnight stay. Very clean in all areas. Was delighted to find it was located very near Oxford Street which has a good choice of interesting places to eat and drink. Car Park nearby was easy to find and reasonably priced.

Really awful stay. Room changed the night before , the furthest and highest room , lost count of flight of stairs with 2 suitcases and small child not an easy task. Very dirty bathroom especially and lamp didn’t work in bedroom. Kettle full of mildew and could not use. Just awful!

Stayed in starboard suite which was immaculate. Really comfortable and clean. Spacious room with bay window. Shower is really powerful highly recommended. Could I suggest there was a plug socket near the mirror for people who may want to do their hair with straighteners or hairdryer. Thanks for great stay

Perfect service, the instructions couldn't be clearer. Rooms above what you would pay for the same elsewhere. Recommend 100% the coffee and tea providing was what you wouldn't get somewhere elsewhere. The bed was very comfortable and I never heard one noise even though it is beside a busy street.

Booked to stay here the day before leaving for a cruise. Rail strike changed travel plans so then booked a second day. Staff were great in making sure we had the same room despite booking months apart. We even got a free upgrade! Room is lovely with plenty of space and huge bathroom with whirlpool bath. Free wifi too and easy instructions for secure entry to the property. Very happy! We were able to walk here from the train station ( about 15 mins). Dinner was an easy choice as there is a popular street just round the corner with several restaurants/ bars. Plenty of choice. After we went a walk to the harbour - again an easy walk - less than ten minutes. Will stay an time cruising again - or if taking a break down this way again. There are no staff on the premises but have been very easy to contact and have kept updated as the trip got closer so would not put me off! Our rooms is upstairs - it is an old building so the stairs reflect this - not just one stairway but different sets of stairs. Stairways though are well kept. There is a restaurant below rooms ( we heard no noise but were here midweek) . Did not try that. Menu not to personal choice. All in all though - very happy with the rooms and service given.
