Not staying but only have a dinner here, so nice staff and beautiful place. Having a garlic chicken that so tasty and a dessert also great. Better to do reservation as Austwick really small town that has no much choice tbh. Good to try when visited Austwick

Just back from an idyllic stay at The Traddock in beautiful Austwick. We had a lovely room with a huge bathroom. The team will stop at nothing to make sure you have everything you want. It is not formal though just friendly and relaxed. The food is excellent. There are some lovely walks that can be done from the hotel and there are lots of things to see very near by including some really beautiful drives up through the hills. We would definitely recommend giving this little gem a try.

After a delightful meal at The Gamecock on Sunday 25th May , we found ourselves looking for a spot to unwind with a coffee and a glass of wine. Being a Sunday, The Gamecock closed early at 7 pm, so we headed to The Traddock just before 8pm , hoping for a relaxing evening. We settled into the lounge, making ourselves comfortable, and waited ten minutes before finally catching someone’s attention. At that point, I requested the drinks and wine menu. After another fifteen minutes, I attempted to place an order with a passing waiter, only to be dismissed with a finger gesture implying he was too busy. When I approached another waiter, he simply pointed towards the bar and, in a curt and patronising tone, stated, “There is the bar, please help yourself.” Ordering from the bar itself wasn’t an issue, but a clear explanation of the service style when we first received the menu would have been appreciated. We proceeded to the bar, collected our wine and wine coolers, and carried them back to our table ourselves. Regrettably, the two male staff members working that evening were unwelcoming and uninterested in ensuring we had an enjoyable experience. Their attitude made it clear that we were more of an inconvenience. No effort was made to engage, upsell drinks, or create an inviting atmosphere. While the setting itself is undeniably charming, the service fell far short of the warm professionalism one would expect. Perhaps it would be beneficial for these staff members to receive customer service training at The Gamecock. I understand that staffing can be a challenge in a small village like Austwick, but surely, higher standards can be maintained even for non residents. We love the area, particularly Settle Golf Club, and had been planning to book three rooms for an upcoming stay. However, after this disappointing experience, we will certainly be reconsidering our plans.

Called in after a long walk and received a warm welcome. We were in hiking gear and just dropped in for tea and cake. A lovely gentleman made us very welcome. We went into the lounge and had beautiful tea and scones. The staff were super friendly and the refreshments were gorgeous. Thank you so much.

Booked a table at The Traddock on the suggestion of our holiday home owner. Looked quite posh, but there were walkers with dogs in the lounge when we arrived! Very good service in what is obviously a popular venue. Chose the Brasserie menu rather than the 9 course Tasting menu, but there was still plenty of choice of food and wine. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for as always.

Gorgeous hotel. Staff very welcoming, beautiful decor and fantastic food. All round a really relaxing, lovely place to be. We had the tasting menu which was delicious and varied. Will definitely visit again. …………………,,,,,,,,,,,,,,……………………….,,,,,,,,,,
