Madhuban Hotel is abaolutely the best hotel to stay in Kathmandu. I will tell you why. The hotel is on point in all aspects. Value for money - you get what you pay. The hotel offers free breakfast and very affordable in-house food and snacks. The pick-up and drop-off from the airport was smooth, hassle-free and absolutely enjoyable. I was picked up by the son of the hotel owner and it was an absolutely enjoyable time. Location - Madhuban Hotel is strategically located - far from the noisy cith but near the places of interests. It is near the party area (thamel area) with lots of restaurants and souvenir shop. It is one ride away from major attractions. Tours and adventures - the hotel have their own provider - adventureboundnepal. Theu arrange and match prices in the market. They were even able to pull up a last minute booking for me with the everest flight. Hospitality - owners, managers and staff are all smiling, cheerful and happy. You feel at home. Rooms - spacious and very neat. Heaters is working, fast internet and plus points if you have a terrace (which i did). The rooftop gives an amazing view of the neighborhood. Restaurants and shops - plenty around the area. You will never go wrong! Will stay again in Madhuban Hotel?? DEFINITELY!

this place is value for money. well reachable and calm to do morning meditations. the person at the reception really helped a lot during the late checkin.

Je suis resté deux jours au total. Le prix n'était pas cher et l'emplacement était plutôt bon. C'était à seulement 100 mètres de l'hôtel Chengdu. C'était dans le quartier de Thamel et la chambre était assez calme. Très propre. Nous avons également amélioré le type de chambre.

J'ai eu une terrible expérience dans cet hôtel - il a réservé comme un premier arrêt à Kathmandu à l'arrivée au Népal, un endroit où je me place pour mettre mes bagages pendant le voyage et une nuit dernière avant de partir du pays. Il n'y a pas de disposition pour le contrôle de sac - pas d'étiquette donnée ou similaire. Demande si je pouvais partir / vérifier mon sac a été dit oui et de quitter devant le bureau de front. Deux semaines plus tard, quand je suis retourné au sac d'hôtel, il était encore dans le lobby devant le bureau de front. Les choses manquaient bien sûr - pas assez de valeur pour argumenter, mais le fait qu'ils ne pouvaient même pas être dérangés de déplacer le sac quelques pieds vers un coffre-fort ou un endroit de garde ou le genre est un indice de la façon dont ce lieu roule. Ils ont essayé de réserver un transbordeur pour le matin d'abord à l'aéroport par l'hôtel, listé comme service inclus. Au lieu de 5h15, il est devenu un jeu de laisser faire un accord et voir combien nous pouvons charger en ne donnant aucune preuve il y avait même un chauffeur. Le Nepal est un pays merveilleux - cet hôtel a été une expérience constante de mauvaise qualité. Les chambres elles-mêmes sont meh - n'a pas essayé le petit déjeuner gratuit, sur le restaurant local était assez bon, l'atmosphère/la nourriture. Ce n'est pas un hôtel bon marché selon les normes locales - pour le point de prix il y a beaucoup / beaucoup d'options dans la région.

I would like to express my appreciation for the warm hospitality and the exceptional behavior of the staff. The food was wonderful, and the rooms were both neat and clean. The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

Un très bon hôtel économique avec un personnel et un environnement très sympathiques. Il est idéalement situé juste au nord du quartier de Thamel, à environ 20 minutes à pied, avec de nombreux restaurants raffinés parmi lesquels choisir. Les chambres sont bien rangées et soignées. C'est mon deuxième séjour ici et je suis très satisfait du logement. J'aime le jardin de l'arrière-cour et le quartier généralement calme. Nourriture décente ici du restaurant local. Belles douches chaudes et télévision par câble.

I stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

J'ai passé un séjour merveilleux au Funky Monkey Hotel Hostel and Apartment à Thamel, Katmandou. Dès mon arrivée, je me suis senti(e) accueilli(e) et à l'aise. L'emplacement est absolument fantastique – en plein cœur de Thamel, avec des restaurants, des cafés, des boutiques, des bars, la vie nocturne et tout ce dont vous avez besoin à quelques pas seulement. En même temps, l'établissement lui-même dégage une atmosphère confortable et détendue, ce qui en a fait un endroit idéal pour se reposer après avoir exploré Katmandou. La chambre était propre, confortable et bien entretenue. Le lit était confortable, la chambre disposait d'une bonne connexion Wi-Fi et de la climatisation, et avoir une salle de bain privée était très pratique. Tout était aménagé de manière simple mais fonctionnelle, ce qui donnait à la chambre une ambiance propice à la détente après une journée de visites bien remplie. Ce qui a vraiment rendu mon séjour spécial, c'est le personnel et l'hospitalité. Tout le monde était amical, poli, accueillant et toujours prêt à aider chaque fois que j'avais besoin de quelque chose. Ils m'ont accueilli(e) avec un sourire et m'ont fait me sentir plus comme un invité de marque que comme un simple client. Leur attitude serviable et la chaleureuse hospitalité népalaise ont fait une grande différence dans mon expérience globale. J'ai aussi beaucoup apprécié l'espace sur le toit. C'est un endroit idéal pour s'asseoir, se détendre, prendre un verre, rencontrer d'autres voyageurs et profiter de l'atmosphère animée de Thamel. Si vous voyagez seul(e), entre amis ou en couple, je pense que le toit est l'un des meilleurs endroits pour passer du temps le soir. Une autre chose que j'ai appréciée est le rapport qualité-prix général. Vous bénéficiez d'un excellent emplacement, d'un hébergement confortable, d'un personnel serviable, du Wi-Fi, de la climatisation et d'une atmosphère accueillante sans payer les prix d'un hôtel de luxe. Pour les voyageurs qui souhaitent explorer Katmandou et séjourner dans un endroit pratique, confortable et convivial, c'est un très bon choix. Je recommanderais sans hésiter le Funky Monkey Hotel Hostel and Apartment à toute personne visitant Katmandou, en particulier les routards, les couples, les voyageurs solitaires, les familles et ceux qui recherchent un endroit pratique où séjourner à Thamel. La combinaison de l'emplacement, du confort, du personnel amical et du bon rapport qualité-prix distingue cet établissement. C’est un superbe hôtel , l’emplacement est bon et c’est très calme . Ils sont très accueillants et souciants . J’ai été traité comme un roi . Juste que l’eau dans les toilettes sent pas bon du tout c’est le seul défaut de l’hôtel . Et aussi j’ai réclamé un changement de drap et couvertures le gérant m’a promis mais il l’a pas fait , j’ai du dormir 5 jours sur la même couverture
