Like a lot of people, we stayed here for a night while walking the West Highland Way. We got here about 8pm at the end of the walk from Drymen, and after those last few miles walking along forest paths in fading light, the welcome here was genuinely wonderful. We were offered a pickup by car from the hotel at the bottom of the road. I'm not certain if they always do that, but it was really welcome. The stay here was a good experience all round. The building itself is lovely, with some gorgeous stained glass. The guys working here were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fairly basic but the food we had for dinner was great. There's also a fridge with plenty of good beer you can serve yourself from. They'll sell you a packed lunch for the next day's walk, which is great since there are no shops around. The accomodation is nice for what it is, and it felt like good value. I genuinely really liked this place. Out of all the places that we stayed on our WHW trip this is the one I most remember fondly. The only thing I'd mention as useful info is not to get there too late. When we went, the kitchen was last orders at 8:30. That's completely fair given the small scale they're working on, but it might catch you out if you're walking into the evening like we were. There's not really any other options for getting a meal around here, so be careful.
