Flip Flops on the Hilltop is a vacation rental property designed for families and/or groups of up to 10 total guests. A large 2-story home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, spacious kitchen, family room, sitting area, bar & gaming table, and a laundry room. There is a welcoming front porch, screened-in balcony (overlooking Palm Bay and Elizabeth Harbor), and a sundeck with lounge chairs.Plenty of space with decor designed for all the comforts of home. The extra large chef-inspired kitchen is loaded with everything you need to cook and enjoy meals. The home can accommodate up to 10 guests; the primary bedroom is on the second floor with a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom. There are three bedrooms on the first floor; two with queen-sized beds and another with custom-made dual bunkbeds with XL-twin mattresses. The family room has a large sectional couch and Smart TV for those relaxing evenings watching your favorite streaming shows. There is also a chest filled with board games for the kids to enjoy, plus a Foosball Table and Corn Hole game.Flip Flops on the Hilltop is located just 1.5 miles from Georgetown and is only a 12-14 minute drive from the Exuma airport (GGT). Our home is also part of the Hideaways Beach Club on Palm Bay. The amenities at Hideaways are included for our guests to enjoy; this includes a pool, club room, workout room, and water toys (kayaks and paddle boards). Splash Restaurant is also on site and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner most of the year.We also provide our guests with ice chests (one large and 2 small), beach towels, beach chairs, floaties, and a wagon. The walk down to Hideaways and the beach is only 2-3 minutes; Palm Bay Beach is often shallow and calm with great snorkeling along the rock formations. Palm Bay Beach is also a short 5-6 minute walk along the beach to Jolly Hall Beach (one of our favorites).For your comfort, each bedroom has its own AC unit which is remote controlled. The ideal temperature settings are around 72-73 degrees. Its okay to lower to 70 degrees at night in each bedroom; but please turn off when leaving the house for the day. Each floor also has large AC units which should remain on at 73-74 degrees during the day (please turn off at night). When departing for home, please leave these larger units on but set the temperature to 76 degrees and all bedroom units should be turned off. Starlink WiFI is also available.Lastly, once your booking is confirmed, you will be notified via this platform and via email. When your whole vacation is within 5 minutes of the house, your vacation explodes with choices.• Three restaurants/bars down the hill, at the base of the driveway.• The popular Fish Fry is a 1/4-mile walk. (12 Bahamian owned small restaurants/bars; including Shirley’s)• The ultra-protected and calm water Jolly Hall Beach is 300 yards to the north. Think of the perfect beach... this is it. • Central George Town with the Peace and Plenty Hotel, Minn's Water Sports, and the Straw Market is one mile away.Summit Exuma's location allows for a much broader vacation than most rental homes on Exuma. Half of your amenities and fun are a 3-minute walk down the hill and the other half is accessible one mile away in Georgetown. This unlocks a much more diverse vacation because you can move around and change venues easily and quickly. * Take super short taxi rides into George Town to hit the grocery store, straw market, Minn's Water Sports (boat rental), several more restaurants, and boat shuttle to Stocking Island etc... Water on this side of the island is almost always perfect for boating, that's why this is where all the sailboats come. This is where you want to be.THE VIEW from Summit Exuma is one of the most spectacular in all Exuma. The house is located at the crest of a 60-foot hill with unimpeded views in every direction. The view to the ocean offers an all-encompassing picture of the whole of Stocking Island including the monument and Coconut Club Beach Club. Count all 300 sailboats anchored offshore all winter long. Most rental homes show a slice of ocean but are very few provide this amazing view.THE BEACH: Summit Exuma is located a short walking distance from the best calm water swimming beach on Great Exuma, Jolly Hall Beach. • With its powder white sand and shallow water, the beach looks like a “Corona commercial” almost every day. There are many beautiful beaches on Exuma, but most of them are exposed to direct wind and waves. While the others provide calm water 30% of the time, Jolly Hall Beach is calm and flat 95% of the days.• A small, unmarked path was created to allow access for visitors. All beaches in the Bahamas are public and accessible to everyone.• Jolly Hall Beach cannot be seen from the road and therefore is not highly frequented, nor is it touristy. The family that owns the land obliges us with a path… but there is no sign promoting it. Jolly Hall Beach looks exactly as it did 50 years ago and likely will look the same in another 50 years. That’s just fine with us. While most pictures of rental homes on Exuma feature photos of calm ocean water, the reality is that the water is rough 2/3 of the time on Exuma. That is a big deal when planning your activities for your time on vacation. Therefore, finding spots with consistently calm water is paramount. On mainland Exuma, there are only a few choices, with the best being Jolly Hall Beach. Jolly Hall Beach is located down the hill and left 300 yards. The ½ mile beach is protected by surrounding islands and shoals from the prevailing winds and waves and therefore delivers a fantastic swimming experience almost every day.
