With this property being a SLH of the World, naturally expectations are high. And I’ll preference this by explaining I have stayed at this property previously, a couple of years ago, and my opinion unfortunately hasn’t changed. I visit Rarotonga a couple of times a year, and always stay at luxury properties. Our last visit we had quite an unpleasant waitress in the front of house, and thinking she would have moved on by now, we went back. I wish we didn’t. There is one particular female staff member in the restaurant who has a significant amount of arrogance, which unfortunately completely spoils the experience of Little Poly. Everyone else we’ve encountered previously has been great, but it doesn’t take much to spoil the experience. We are not staying onsite (this time), and were asked this upon presenting for lunch. The staff member made us feel like a total inconvenience. We then asked to make some dinner reservations for the week to which she rolled her eyes and explained they were fully booked. I questioned this with surprise, and suddenly we were able to book. The disappointing point is we were planning to stay here for our future Raro trips, thinking the service would surely have improved by now. I’m glad we visited just for lunch and not booked to stay for the usual two week vacation, as we now know not to go back. Unfortunately for the property, all the other staff, and facilities are great. But one arrogant waitress really can make or break a vacation, particularly at a resort this small and having experienced plenty of other resorts on Raro, this certainly isn’t the traditional Cook Islands experience.
