Hotel La Maison Blanche

We absolutely loved this stay! Mr. Begdouri is the perfect host and was very helpful during the planning portion of our trip as well. The hotel is perfectly positioned for walking the most historic parts of Tangier and has amazing views from the roof. This property and the people who work there are truly special.

This was our second stay at Aziz Begdouri's delightful Riad, La Maison Blanche in Tanger. It is excellently located on the edge of the Kasbah. The Riad has been decorated to a very high standard with wonderful attention to detail. We stayed in Rick Steves again. It has a wonderful, comfy bed and beautiful linen. We slept really well for the whole of our stay. Breakfast is served up on the roof terrace and is a typical Moroccan breakfast with crepes, Moroccan bread which looks like a thin crumpet, fruit, orange juice, jams, a kind of peanut butter made with Argan Oil, eggs - fried with Cumin or scrambled, plentiful coffee, tea and mint tea. Nothing is too much trouble for Aziz and his staff. We will definitely return when we go back to Tanger.

This Ryad was beautiful, with all the modern necessities but with the charm and details of a 14th century home. The service was impeccable, you feel right at home. The views from the roof top were incredible and you are able to see all the way to Spain.

We had such a great time here recently. We spent 4 nights at the hotel which is located in the old part of the city - easily the most interesting part. You can walk to most places you need to see, or take a petit taxi to parts further away. There are 2 excellent restos within 50 metres from the hotel, and we especially enjoyed the nearby Morocco Club and the piano bar downstairs. Aziz and his team are attentive and helpful and provide useful advice about places to visit and how to get there. The hotel is peaceful and quiet and the rooms are tastefully decorated with everything you need for a restful stay. We had a fabulous stay here and we would certainly recommend La Maison Blanche for a top hotel experience.

One of the best places I've ever stayed in my 60+ years on Earth. It is in a perfectly central location, the rooms and central courtyard are absolutely beautiful, and the rooftop offers stunning 360 degree view of the city. The rooftop has two levels, and from the upper deck, we could easily see a big section of coastal Spain including a beachfront village. Our host Aziz, was just like Tangier: Effortlessly charming, helpful, and multi-lingually fluent. One evening, my wife and I decided to play a board game on the upper deck of the roof. As it got darker I noticed a few outlets discreetly placed on the outer wall. Having faith in Aziz, whose attention to detail is excellent, I borrowed a couple of night stand lights from the room and plugged them in. She and I played into the night, thanks to a fully powered roof.
