Little Silver Country Hotel ★★★
"Check-in experience was excellent and all the staff we met were very welcoming and friendly. Room was large and comfortable and our request for a fan was accommodated with the minimum of fuss. We stayed as part of a package to visit the Chapel Down winery and all the logistics around this went smoothly - a big shout out to Sarah Winter from Tenterden Executive Hire who was brilliant for our transfers. Overall an enjoyable stay"
Little Dane Court ★★★★
"Quirky 500+ year old property decorated in contemporary Japanese style. Easy walk along the High Street for dinner. Good breakfast at a table shared with other guests. On the downside, the memory foam matress has a slope where everyone has sat on the edge of the bed, the shower was weak, as was the wi-fi."
The Print House Inn ★★★★
"We enjoyed a weekend at the print house for our anniversary. We had a warm welcome on arrival and benefitted arriving early enough to obtain a prime parking spot outside the front of the B&B. We booked the chapel down experience, including a 3 course set meal at the B&B plus taxi and chapel down tour. There was a little confusion around our experience at chapel down, the taxi was late but we did manage to arrive ahead of our tour time. The location is ideal if you are interested in visiting the local vineyards! The chapel down set menu for dinner, although had nice seasonal options, would benefit from a pub classic within the condensed menu. For the breakfast we were advised it was continental but due to my dietaries it meant the menu was more limited. It would have been brilliant to have an upgrade option for a cooked breakfast within the package options. The room was eclectically decorated, which leaned into the B&Bs charm, however there were a few areas that could have had more attention when cleaning. Overall a pleasant weekend away and would recommend!"
London Beach Country Hotel & Golf Club ★★★
"The 2 stars were awarded to the friendly receptionist on our arrival. She was so welcoming and it was a great introduction to the hotel. Our room was large with a beautiful view over the golf course, but freezing in temperature and no means to heat the room. (or at least a thermostat that worked). The decor of the room is tired and dated, as is the entire hotel generally. It needs a refurb. The kettle with tea and coffee was bizarrely placed on a tray under the TV with a hairdryer, but no where near a plug socket. I only found it because I was looking for a mini fridge. (there wasn't one). There were two pleather covered armchairs in the room, one of which was very badly damaged and split. Why it wasn't removed was beyond me. Not a great first impression. Staff wise in the restaurant - there was a very lovely waitress and another waitress who did not have the right demeanor for a customer fronting supervisory role. (bordering on rude with an attitude). Food wise - we booked a table for dinner in the restaurant. Our food orders were at the command of the waitress rather than when we were ready to order. The meals of the half of the party arrived cold, not lukewarm, but just out of the fridge ice cold. The plates themselves were not warmed either. Maybe the chef forgot to put the plates in the microwave. Again, the attitude of supervisory waitress was not one I would expect of a person in a customer service role. The attitude was initially defensive, followed by an offer to reheat the food, which would have overcooked the meat element, and delayed the table eating together. We asked for them to go away and come up with a better solution. Although they offered to replace the meals with something different, they advised there would be a long wait. We declined and ordered chips. The resolution was to not charge for the food for the table and we accepted the offer. Breakfast the next morning was hot (hurray!) and tasty. All in all - the hotel is tired and dated. Our rooms cost £170 for one night, and the value of our stay did not substantiate this payment."
