My first time staying there was terrible, bedcovers not changed ,bathroom not cleaned ,however, a thumbs up for my stay this time.

Sophie, scott and poopey were absolutely brilliant. I was there to celebrate a gender reveal for my snake. The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough to help. Would gladly have my next reveal here

Had Sunday lunch here for Father’s Day as it was a convenient midway point for all 3 families. I am afraid that that is all that can be said in its favour. Sunday roast menu- but run out of chicken (despite the fact that we arrived at the start of service) . When the food arrived - warm rather than hot- I asked why no Yorkshire puddings - run out of those as well. No apologies offered. I also realised later no pigs in blankets either - apparently they had had those but had forgotten to put them on the plate.Again no apologies. Very impersonal service, all food had to be ordered on the App. Also beware having to pay for car parking( although can get it reimbursed if pay by cash and have it offset when pay at the bar for drinks- but that meant 2 out of 3 of our group did not get reimbursed). We were told we only had a 2 hour slot at the table so moved outside at that point. An hour later still no one at our former table or indeed at a number of the other ‘ reserved tables’. Probably the most disappointing meal and environment for a meal out for many years. Look elsewhere- there have got to be better pub meals in the area than this!

Lovely welcoming pub on the outskirts of Newbury! The staff were very welcoming and were all smiling throughout my short stop! I have to commend Charlie, Hayley & Kieran on looking after me and my son! I recommend HIGHLY the COWBOY BURGER! It was a really tasty experience for a classic cheese and bacon burger but something about it just made it closer to 5 guys experience rather than your average pub burger! Served quickly and it was all hot (as it should be!) Atmosphere was homely away from home, with locals sharing stories about the history of the place and everything! My only downside was the hot water in the gent’s toilet wasn’t working, and given the weather conditions at the time it was a rather chilly experience! Will be coming back next time in town for sure!

Well what a shock.A wonderful reunion with my brothers after 10 yrs ruined because of a fine through the post for £100.I bought a ticket for one pound & took on board that it was refundable but during the visit the event extended & everyone decided to eat.I never had to pay for anything so the ticket was just forgotten in my pocket.When leaving my brother said that I could have redeemed the £1 ticket but stupidly thought that they might give the un-redeemed monies to charity. WHAT A FOOL I AM! Now have to pay a fine.Disgraceful!!You won't find me or any of my family in that place again.

Great pub in Thatcham with really friendly staff. Food was well presented and very tasty. Really good menu in terms of selection with things I've not seen before I.e Kebab and fries on the menu. Good selection of drinks and clean and tidy. Will visit again.

The place looked very inviting from the outside and I was welcomed by a really friendly and helpful Duty Manager, called Mark, at the bar. He explained all the facilities for the accommodation and also advised of the menu for evening meal and breakfast. The twin room was really clean and well presented. The beds were comfy and cosy and all that was needed was provided in the room. Had a great night's sleep (except for the trains at about 5.30am but that is to be expected with a hotel by the station and railway crossing) We were met again in the morning by Mark for Breakfast, which was delicious and adapted to our preferences and also my Gluten intolerances. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were made to feel very welcome. If I ever have the need to return to Thatcham I will most definitely stay here again.

The staff are very nice, Scott always has cool shirts. The food is very good considering the people I always go with always order at the same time and manage to freeze the app (sorry guys). The severs are very friendly and they create a great atmosphere. Everyone is a great laugh and love coming to the pub. P.S draco wanted his name in here so here you go :)

Came here with a large party for birthday celebrations. Great service from Scott & David Great food from chefs Mark & Lauren. Will definitely be back as the choice on the menu is good with lots of other meals that we all would like to try, and a extensive choice of drinks.
