Burton Lodge Guest House & Spa

Just returned from a lovely 1 night stay as this wonderful guest house. Nothing is too much trouble. We used the spa and had treatments on our stay. We had it all to ourselves for a couple of hours as we were offered an early check in due to the treatment times that were available. The spa is so beautiful, so clean and smells amazing. It’s in a beautiful purpose built building and overlooks the golf course. Beautiful views, but with one sided glass so still very private. The owners have thought of everything and there are changing rooms, toilets and a shower room in the spa area. We both had a treatment and the therapist was so lovely. I had a gorgeous mini facial and my husband had the luxury back massage. Our room was clean, comfortable with a huge bed and a lovely powerful shower. Tea and coffee, biscuits and a water machine just outside our room. They have an honesty bar in a lovely lounge overlooking the garden. We had booked Burts for our dinner but decided on the local pub instead. Huge portions and very reasonable prices. Just a 10 minute walk. Breakfast was lovely and all freshly prepared. You pre order when you arrive. Proper cafetière coffee, which we love to see. All in all this was a lovely, peaceful night away and just what we needed. Would love to stay again in ‘The Bothy’ when we have chance. Thank you ☺️

We discovered Burton Lodge after our usual plans fell through and we are so glad we did! The guest house is exceptional - spotlessly clean and super friendly and helpful staff. Parking was not a problem as there was plenty of space. Breakfast was delicious and ordering in advance prevents waste and we were still able to get extra toast when we underestimated. The swimming pool was a major bonus for our family of five - we were able to start our day with a family swim after breakfast. In the evening we used the lounge which was so much better than a chain hotel where you are confined to bedrooms. We will definitely be returning to Burton Lodge when we are next in the area.

Perfect place to relax and unwind! We spent one night here as a family with a 6 year old. The staff were helpful and couldn’t do more for us and our little boy. The pool was warm, spotlessly clean and our little one really enjoyed swimming whilst my husband went in the steam room. We had a family room that over looked the impressive gardens. The breakfast was 10/10 and again all needs catered to. Excellent 10/10

I just want to say a huge thank you, such a helpful and kind place and owners. I was locked out of my house late at night with no where to go, they accommodated me straight away as it was a Sunday evening and they had a family occasion, nothing was too much trouble. I’m an 82 year old lady and the guy helped me up the stairs. The room was sparking clean and very comfortable bed, immaculate and cosy. Thank you again

We cannot praise the staff at Burton Lodge enough. They were welcoming from the start and made us feel right at home. From accommodating us being vegan at breakfast (just let them know in advance, we had cereals, soya milk, vegan spreads and vegan sausages as options as well as fruits, jams etc) to being willing subjects for our four year old's new photography hobby, to rescuing us from the pool during a power cut (the whole village went down and they handled it perfectly) - they were just phenomenal. We really want to thank all at Burton Lodge for how at home they made us feel. Our little boy Joseph loved every minute of his stay and is desperate to come and stay here again. The rooms are exactly as they look in the pictures on their site (we stayed in room 2 but also saw room 7 as our son wanted to see the other family room and, as they were with everything else, the staff were accommodating in letting him go see it) so we can say both family rooms are as pictured. Room 2 is in the main building and it's slightly larger with a bath, room 7 is in the annexe and has its own entrance but is smaller and has a walk in shower - both family rooms are lovely so which is better depends on your preferences. The pool/spa is immaculate and because it is primarily done on a timeslot basis (email them times you want in advance) it was fantastic for us as we got to have the pool to ourselves on both occasions we used it. The lounge is very warm, comfortable and relaxing and has an honesty bar with reasonable prices as well as a lovely view out onto the gardens. We booked this stay slightly randomly, having never heard of this guest house or the village in which it resides. We just wanted somewhere peaceful to start the new year and decided it'd be nice to choose somewhere with a pool. This was one of a few options we narrowed it down to and we're so glad this was the one we ended up choosing. This is the happiest we've left any place we've stayed. We simply cannot recommend Burton Lodge highly enough.

We stayed in the Bothy lodge last night and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a little escape! We absolutely loved it, the hot tub was amazing and all staff we met were lovely and helpful. Especially the guy that checked us in (sorry we didn’t catch your name) but he showed us round and made sure we had somewhere to eat that evening. The little touches in the lodge just made it, the complimentary tea/coffee and refreshments in the mini fridge. Breakfast this morning was lovely, we chose our options upon arrival and this was ready for us exactly at the time we requested it for, in a very peaceful conservatory/dining area. My only criticism would be that the sofa in the room could do to be a tad comfier if you wanted somewhere to sit and relax in the room and the open gate maybe could have done to be a little more private when you are relaxing in the hot tub! But overall it was a fab stay and I will be recommending to friends and family. Little gem you’ve got there!
