Cocogiri Island Resort Maldives

Cocogiri. An unforgettable holiday, my family and I stayed on this beautiful island for just over a week and what an experience! From being welcomed at Malé airport from being waved off from the jetty on the island, the staff at cocogiri welcomed us and truly took care of us. To begin with, I would like to thank Tina, the manager as she assisted my father in finding more suitable meal options as the food at Cocogiri is more Indian based I would say. The A La Carte Menu is full of many options and trust me when I say the food was outstanding! I would also like to thank waiters, Mahaveer and Subhasis and the rest of the waiting on staff as the high level of service was maintained throughout all of our stay. The kind staff at Cocogiri helped to make our holiday even better from the maintenance staff always saying hello, to the smiles on everyone’s faces. Our water villa was unreal, housekeeping staff always keeping our room spotless for us and the super comfortable beds they also provide fresh beach and shower towels everyday for us and more beach towels can be found near the shower by the pool. Also in reception there are multiple books guests can read from if you read all yours and the air hockey, pool table and foosball table are available to play for free. The water villas are also a great for snorkelling and seeing lots of wildlife, during our stay we saw turtles, sharks, eels, sting rays and many colourful fish. Speaking of water activities, the men in the Meridis Water Sports Centre were super helpful when we booked our activities and were able to tell us lots of information about the trips. We went on the island hopping but unfortunately due to bad weather our trip to see sharks and turtles was cancelled, this was disappointing however things like this cannot be helped and it was comforting to know the staff were thinking of our safety. If the sea isn’t your cup of tea the pool near the bar is a good size for a relaxing swim to cool yourself down! The day beds are also very comfortable. My family and I also visited the spa where we had multiple treatments by our lovely therapist. I would encourage you to definitely pay a visit and treat yourself to a massage! Small details like the lemon and ginger tea after a treatment all add to the experience. The WiFi connection is also great and exceeded my expectations! If you are celebrating the staff also made an effort to help us celebrate too, as our trip was for my mothers birthday. So again thank you to all the amazing staff at Cocogiri for making our holiday special. It is very much appreciated and we will be coming back!

Where to even start! I booked Cocogiri as a Travel Agent and after hearing so many great things, I wanted to see for myself. If you're considering the Maldives, Cocogiri is a must. This resort is small, beautiful and personal with peace and quiet for the travellers wanting relaxation or plenty of activities if you're looking for something to do. Resort With only 40 rooms on the island, it sometimes feels like you're the only one there. The team know when to leave you be and when to get involved. There is one bar, one restaurant, a dive centre/watersports, a small shop and a spa. I'm praying it stays like this and management say there are no plans to expand. The beach is pristine with the clearest waters you've ever seen and a house reef that is incredible. We saw sharks, turtles, nemo's, rays, octopus, pufferfish, eels not to mention the Titan Triggerfish who was friendly and quite entertaining. Out of the sea, regular visits from the Heron's, crabs, geckos and the local Maldivian birds are a real treat. Trips There are plenty to do from Cocogiri and we tried them all! The shark and turtle snorkelling is an absolute must and the night fishing was fantastic! Take out a jetski to watch the dophins or a sunset cruise. The activities team are excellent, know their stuff and take great care of you! Accommodation Don't expect mod cons and sleek furniture, Cocogiri is traditional Maldivian and their beach and water villas are beautiful with everything needed. The outdoor bathrooms are an experience and from the water villas, you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the marine life right underneath you. There is a TV with cable, all amenities (don't take shampoos, shower gel etc. theirs are lovely). The beds are super comfortable and the aircon great! We had a beach villa and within 2 steps, we were in the Indian Ocean. We also had a stay in a water villa and I honestly can't decide which I prefer. A split option is a great thing to do! Food This was so much better than I expected from an AI and the staff put great thought and care into the meals. There is a great selection, always a Maldivian and Indian choice but plenty of others. Don't expect burgers and chips, this is way better and options to suit everyone. If for some crazy reason, there is something you don't like, the chefs will always look to accommodation you. If you go night fishing, they will cook your catch the following day! Staff This is where Cocogiri really excels! The staff are fabulous and work incredibly hard to make your stay perfect. Huge shout out to Tina, this lady never stops and went out of her way to ensure we had the most incredible holiday. I am now booking this resort for my own clients as I can say through experience, that this is a dream holiday. I have travelled a lot and this is one where I will return without a doubt! This is not the first time we have visited this island. Every time when we finish our vacation, we want to return. The staff is excellent, especially resort manager Tina - every request is fulfilled quickly and attentively. Kevin, the receptionist, is also exceptional. We had a one-year-old child with us, and everything was provided for our convenience, including a crib, high chair, and food suitable for our baby. The villas are stunning, and the reef is beautiful. We will definitely return, thank you!

This island was amazing we we’re welcomed by the staff at the airport and throughout the whole stay made us feel very special the resort is nice and small with 20 beach villa and 20 water villas which for us was the best they had 1 restaurant which was super clean and fresh everyday the snorkelling around the reef is amazing and great water activities if you’re looking for that also great trips and what I liked no one pressured you to do them it was such a relaxing experience even on our last day the staff even guided us to the airport check in which was a lovely gesture and we really enjoyed our stay here extremely magical and I would highly recommend

The island is beautiful and the sea so clear. We stayed in a water villa, they are really big with indoor and outdoor shower. Having steps from your decking into the sea is pure luxury. Tina and her staff are welcoming, attentive and very friendly. I’m sure at some point we will be back but we have a few more countries on our bucket list to experience first.
