Holiday Inn Vilnius

Hotel is good . Close to city centre and very helpful staff . Nice restaurant downstairs with a fusion menu

My first visit to Vilnius, and Lithuania. With a great location and excellent price, the Holiday Inn seemed a good choice. And it was. An easy 20 minute bus ride and 5 minute walk from the airport, and you're at the hotel. The bus from the airport is €0.65 each, each way. Or €8 for a 72 hour travel pass which includes the airport. It's so cheap and easy, I really wouldn't bother with a taxi. We arrived slightly early but our room was ready. We had room 701, their suite. Check in was friendly and top marks to Anton for a friendly welcome. I had also been in touch with the hotel ahead of time with some questions which Anton had been dealing with too, and remembered me. Which was nice. Usual Diamond benefits were applied without issue too. We made our way up to the room which was lovely. It was also extremely clean. It looked brand new! They had kindly made up a small bed in the living area for our 11 year old which she said was very comfortable. There was a large sofa, separate chair and a table as well as a minibar. The main bedroom was a king bed with separate desk and chair. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi bath, separate shower cubicle and double sinks. The door to the bathroom at first seemed odd, almost a see-through sliding door. It wasn't in fact see through unless you stood right next to the glass, and actually looked quite cool. We ate in the Rib Room which happened to be valentines night and it was packed. We had booked thankfully. I had their rib platter which were some of the best ribs I've had. The food was enjoyed by others in our party although a well done steak was requested for my wife but wasn't well done at all by UK standards. Always one to remember in Europe. Service was a little slow but it was packed and actually, something we found everywhere in Vilnius restaurants. Maybe that's just their way. We used the bar on the ground floor which was very nice. Their bar snacks platters are definitely something to try - a good selection of local dishes which we shared among our group. Drinks here were quite expensive compared with other establishments in Vilnius which was a shame as we'd have spent more time here and bought more drinks if they had been better priced. Saying that, the drinks and cocktails we did have were lovely. It is worth noting that Lithuania has very tight alcohol laws and high taxes on alcohol, making such drinks expensive compared with other food and beverage options. This was true everywhere, not just the hotel. Shops stop selling alcohol at 8pm (3pm on a Sun). 20 is the legal age and no discounts of any kind are allowed by law. Worth noting if you are using IHG milestone rewards here - they cannot be used against alcoholic drinks by law. The location of the hotel is excellent with the old town being around 10-15 minutes walk away. Arrival 20-Jun-2023 for 2 nights First time visit to Lithuania, so chose holiday inn as I am familiar with IHG group. Room was pretty unique with a circular shower pod. Bathroom was large and a nice gesture for a beer. Checked in late at night (almost midnight) as Lufthansa flight was delayed (as usual), but service staff was ready to check me in. Breakfast was an excellent spread!

The rooms felt quite basic and had an 80s/90s vibe, but were at least clean and spacious and the bathroom had a nice rain shower, and they were priced accordingly. I was given one on the top floor so had no issues with noise either internally or externally, and a nice sunset view. If I was given another one I'd probably not have rated this review as highly as I did... The on-site restaurant is also very good and I'd recommend the ribs (it's called the rib room for a reason!) Staff were all super friendly and helpful, and happy to also recommend local restaurants nearby. The location was a little out of the old town but a close enough walk or bus ride away.

There is nothing amazing about this hotel, nor is there anything thats worth complaining about that really ruins your overall stay. The checkin was busy when i arrived and it took about 20mins to actually check in, which was a little annoying, but we got there in the end. Only one staff member on the front counter didn't help. The rooms are VERY basic, more so Holiday Inn Express style, not the type of rooms i would expect from a Holiday Inn brand. The air-conditioning control in the room doesn't provide much flexibility on control, just a simple dial, which i doubt really even works, no fan control, so thats a little down side. Rooms are ok, carpet needs a good clean in the room i stayed in, but overall not to bad. Mini-bar is stocked, which is rare for hotels these days, but thats a small bonus if you want to spend on the bar items which is priced high, as per usual. Breakfast is basic, hot and cold food, coffee is good from the automated machine, but no barista on site. A fresh fruit juice machine would be good, always a good addition to breakfast buffet to be able to make fresh juice. I had dinner and lunch in the hotel twice, both meals, the soup, steak and chicken salad were really good! I would recommend this for a spot to eat, but of course, getting out of the hotel for food is always recomended. The front desk staff are nice, allowed me to check-out late due to a late flight, so that was handy and made the stay more pleasing. Gym is very small, so don't get your hopes up. It says there is a sauna, but i couldn't find it. There is a safe in the room, but its not bolted down to the floor or wardrobe! its loose, so someone can pick it up and take it home! Doesnt make sense, not "Safe" at all ! The iron in the room is super cheap! I expect this type of iron from a motel type stay, no steam type, and its very hard to iron a work shirt! They should be replaced with a decent iron! Overall its OK, bed were OK, pillows OK, room was quiet and easy to sleep, so thats a good thing. Short walk into the main area of Old Town across the waterway, or you can grab a taxi, or even a scooter! Thanks for the stay, but i thought the brand of Holiday Inn would be slightly better than what i expect from the brand overall globally.

We hadn't stayed at Holiday Inn Vilnius since March 15, 2020 when Lithuania stopped all public cross-border transportation and closed for COVID-19. Before that it had been our favorite hotel to stay in Vilnius when we travelled without kids. This January my wife and my elder daughter had to fly to Italy via Vilnius, and I chose to book this hotel for them on the way to and back. Both stays were top-rated by my wife for the service and support of the staff and general cleanliness and friendly atmosphere of the place. She asked me to mention a special gratitude to a receptionist Augustinas that was always helpful, explained the benefits of my IHG tier and provided them with complimentary room upgrades, which are often fully or partially neglected at other IHG venues. Can't wait to visit Vilnius again and to have a nostalgic stay at the Holiday In.

High praise for this hotel and its employees. Our group of nine booked five rooms and each was well-appointed, affordable, clean, and in good condition. The Communication & Quality Manager, Erika S. and her front desk staff were attentive, helpful, and made us feel valued. We loved the buffet breakfasts and on our last morning there, she made sure we had boxed breakfasts to take to the airport for our early morning flight. The location was perfect -- we could walk to old town over the bridge in just ten minutes and also walk a block to a local convenience store. Erika arranged airport transportation for our large group (fixed rate we agreed upon in advance) through a local company that we then continued to use for other travel as needed. Lovely city centre hotel with very attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception team and we were looked after very well. Rooms are spacious and very clean with great sound proof windows. Location is great too, walking distance to main attractions.

Really nice hotel with great location. But what really made my stay was the nice stuff, specially Arijana at the reception, Vilja, the housekeeping manager and Irina at the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel for either business or pleasure.
