The room was clean and spacious. Ample of parking lots. The duty staff was very helpful to assist us as we had a punctured tyre. Appreciate that.

We had a fabulous one night visit. A small group of girls looking to catch up The hotel is brilliantly located in that we popped out to tramore to walk the beach and only 10 min away too We checked in and mary was so helpful We booked a beautiful meal in the restaurant. It's obvious the hotel is really popular for dining too as there was a couple of groups enjoying a lovely meal too. The bar staff were very efficient, courteous and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and the food amazing. We had fish and the sizzling dishes and would highly recommend The rooms are newly refurbished the staff were letting us know and you could see how proud they are of their hotel. I took a few pics We had a restful nights sleep and after a lovely hot breakfast and lots of chats it was back out yo tramore to walk the beach You couldn't go wrong in booking the viking for a short break it's ideal to enjoy with fantastic attractions right on your doorstep

The hotel is a great place to stay. The staff are really help and Frendly…..the food is great you can’t knock the place . The only Downside is the Breakfast . 1 …..the bacon has a white sticky residue all over it because it’s water injected cheap Bacon and to be honest Bland and tasteless. 2 ………I asked for the Kitchen to cook me a fried slice of bread like they have in England with the english breakfast but was told they can’t do it…….that puzzled me because they done it for me the week before….and it was absolutely Delicious and that the only reason I went back this Week so I wasn’t happy this time to go pay €29 for a breakfast I wasn’t happy with. Every thing else was great and a great selection of breakfasts . The staff were better than helpful and professional.

I recently attended a concert in the SETU, and stayed at The Viking Hotel, which was a mere 3 minute drive to the venue . I was in the Kingsize Superior room. The room was so spacious and the decor very stylish. From the carpet to the headboard, and the tiles in the bathroom, I loved both the colours and obvious scheme that pulled everything together. Prints,depicting local landmarks were a great touch, giving a sense of place and identity to the hotel. Everything you could need was in the room: an abundance of sockets, ironing board, lighted mirrors and even a fridge! My teenage son was particularly appreciative of the smart tv. We ate in the restaurant before the concert and found that the menu had plenty of choice. My son opted for the braised beef and gave it high praise indeed. Portion sizes were generous in all courses. I found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. I slept so soundly that night, I missed the breakfast service by over an hour! However, I consoled myself by having a refreshing rainfall shower before my departure. Would definitely return.

This is a lovely hotel that is a little outside of the city but still very accessible. It is near the outer ring road makign it easy to get to the coastal areas. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and there were some options for coeliacs. There may have been more options for coeliac but I would have needed to ask and sometimes, it is easier not to have to ask. The rooms are clean, modern and at the right temperature. I had not stayed here before but will again.

This would be a top notch hotel but for the slamming doors. I told them how to remedy this by adjusting the mechanisms on the doors to make them 'soft close' when I stayed last year but they clearly don't give a fig. Your sleep will be disturbed by many doors slamming from 6-7am onwards. The rooms are amazing, upgraded to a very high standard and super comfortable. Wifi issues have been sorted and you can now cast Netflix etc from your phone to the TV without any freezing. They employ a lot of special needs staff in the bar, which is a really lovely thing, but as a busy professional you'd want the patience of a saint to deal with them. Really good hotel and would be superb if noise issues ironed out.

Had a very pleasant stay in the Viking Hotel Waterford last weekend. First impressions were that the hotel was clean and had a nice vibrant atmosphere. The room was very spacious with a huge bed. The bedroom and bathroom were well cleaned. We had breakfast on both mornings and dinner on one evening in the bar. The quality of the food and the service were both excellent. We look forward to going back again at some stage in the future. The only slight negative is that it is located around 5km from the city centre. There is public transport nearby though and taxis are plentiful.

I loved the design of our room And bathroom! So classy and professional - with finally a plug by the bed and also by the mirror for hair dryer! It was like the design really took account of the user in the room And didn’t just standardise a hotel room Design. We really enjoyed our time at the hotel and would visit again!
