Excellent area in Wick for a hotel. Good view of the river and garden. If you are a birder there is a rookery in the church next door and is well worth looking out and hearing for them at roosting time! Rooms were ready for us when we arrived at 2pm which was great and check in was fine. Rooms are quite homely and very clean. Had trouble locating the kettle and cups. Found them in the wardrobe and in a drawer. Bit weird that! Sleep quality was ok. Breakfast was in a pretty uninspiring room with no ambience to it whatsoever. Perhaps a little bit of light music and a few house plants might make it a bit more welcoming. Breakfast was pretty average and the serving girl on the Sunday certainly gave the impression she wanted to be somewhere else, often seen on her mobile phone. All other staff were good. If I was in the area again I would stay again but probably go to the cafe on the High Street instead for breakfast.

Couldn’t be better, the host is a very responsible gentleman who provided perfect service.

I have been to Wick three times - twice at MacKay’s and once at another hotel. MacKay’s is undoubtedly the better hotel. The hotel has a faded elegance that can be quite charming, and it is certainly a better hotel than Wick deserves with spacious rooms and a great restaurant. However the decor and fittings are a bit old.

Grande séjour - tout va bien ici ! Nous étions entrés pendant 3 nuits et nous étions tristes de ne plus avoir réservé ! Kacey est une excellente, chaleureuse hôtesse, la propriété est bien entretenue et bien située. La chambre est goûtée, de haute qualité et tout super propre et nouveau! Baignoire moderne et de belles lits. Le petit déjeuner est magnifique et le dîner réservable est aussi bon. Le pouce vert n'est pas seulement un logo de marketing, mais il est vivant dans tous les domaines: du savon à la biographie - tout simplement super! Voici le rapport prix/performance. Je suis ravie de revenir.
