Travelodge Widnes

Front desk staff very helpful, room was clean and tidy, bed was good and fast check in and check out.

They was very good when I ask for extra milk as I found you need 2 in a cup and they left me a lot plus the room was tidy and the staff seemed very pleasant

Hotel looks ok until we got in the room and it smelt like death. The second night we asked Pete and Rory if we could move so they put us up in the main building as there was no other rooms. This building had the smell of a damp mop. The corridor carpets were filthy and smell rotten. We were told they were waiting for a hotel upgrade due to a leak. We were only there for 2 nights but feel so sorry for the guys having to breathe that smell all night. Travelodge bosses you should be ashamed taking money to stay there. Everything is tatty. Windows in the room were full of moisture between the glass so u can hardly see out. The rooms smelt damp, our second room backed on to the main road. The “double glazing” keeps zero noise out. The building was so hot we had to keep them open as the fan provided blew hot air around. Your staff however are a credit to your company. They are too good however for this establishment.

Is this a 5 stat hotel, no. Is it exactly what it days on the tin? Yes. A no frill, clean and perfectly acceptable hotel. Stay was made five star thanks to Jane in reception, absolutely charming and very helpful.

Our 3rd visit and unfortunately had a very noisy room 19 facing the traffic forwards and sideways. I’m a light sleeper and only managed 3 & 1/2 hours sleep due to Saturday night and early Sunday morning traffic. Culminating in an early departure home instead of looking around Liverpool after watching a dancing show on the Saturday night. I would therefore suggest a room in the annex rather than the very old established original building where reception is. The bathroom has the original travel lodge dotted tiles- if you know you know lol. Reception were nice. Towels were nice. Bed not so nice. Don’t think I’ll gamble room wise seeing as you cannot email the lodge when booking.

The room was clean but a strong smell that was not nice like a wet carpet. Asked for a 5am wake up call that did not happen so I ended up getting up late and rushed to my appointment
