Drummond Lodge

Lovely little motel, with cabins as well and a beautiful garden on the river side. Spacious room, bar fridge and microwave, and large closet. Room 17 has the smallest sink I have ever seen, less than 12” in any direction, but bathroom and the rest of the room was immaculate. Bonus was a continental breakfast, with yoghurt, muffins, fruit, juice and coffee. Right next door is a gas station with Mexican restaurant, which was good.

Made a reservation for a non smoking room. Arrived at 6:30 p.m and checked in. Noticed a strong unpleasant odour in room, but figured I could put up with it. Noticed that the closed bathroom window had bugs, grasses and other nasty things trapped between screen & glass. Went for supper. Climbed into bed approx 9:30 p.m & noticed it reeked of stale cigarette smoke, Could not ascertain if it was the mattress or blanket or? I noticed on leaving in the morning that my door did not display the non smoking sign but others did. When I complained to the front desk clerk and asked for a possible discount I was treated rudely and it basically was inferred that it was in my imagination. They told me it had been cleaned etc. They also tried to explain the window away by saying one was on order and it was too cold to install. Will never stay or recommend this motel. This room should not have been rented out.
