Woopi Backpackers

I've stayed on and off many times...there's no locks on any toilet or bathroom shower doors, there's only 3 out of 6 useless element stoves working, no cooking space or room to move, no fridge space, no freezer, no working/semi effective pots/pans or cooking utensils; frustrating as hell, far to many homeless, it's full of seasonal and long-term backpackers living there; most and some are 3yrs living there, there's no cooking utensils, to many dope smokers, useless bar that doesn't operate and people in Woolgoolga laugh at, staff except owner are great, no parking, breakfast provided is worthless, cockroaches everywhere, dogs running around, kids crying in the place, the owner Sam is an arrogant nasty peice of work who joins in drinking and zero concerns re true backpackers/travelers. Sam lives on site and turns lights and power out at his discretion in the evening whether your cooking or watching tv or socialising, gets pissed and doesn't give a damn regarding any concerns. Super expensive washing, go to the caravan park for cheaper washing. Theres filthy roller hand towels in the toilets from the 70s that had never been changed, no hand sanitizer, constantly played rubbish music but most of all...the amount of long term homeless halfway house people living there drugging up is outrageous! Pool table is a laugh, tv remote and electronics don't work which was a massive laugh. When the open to public bar is operating Fri n Sat the noise is maddening as its penetrates through the whole place. Wifi is an absolute joke!! Worst of all is when you get to your room it's the amount of long term people's crap, clothes and having to contend with someone's fully living in a bunk space in a 4-8 bedded room...utter madness, plus couples living together! Don't expect to watch tv or a movie, long-term "backpackers" will see that that won't work. But most of all, is the owner who I found to be an arrogant clown who appears to run this halfway house reluctantly. I found the true backpacker passing through very nice and very shocked, most long-term residents were nice but standoffish if not rude. No space to hang washing due to expensive dryer prices. All n all, glad to never go back, what a sham! Sam you're a disgrace!
