Xiamen Orange Sea Homestay

Highly recommended if you need budgetary hotel, their service are super nice and helpful. Room is clean and have projector to watch movie, but not netflix ya 😂 You can cycle to the nearest MRT station if you are lazy walk. And there is a convenient shop selling snacks, beers and daily use goods in front of the hotel. The lady boss is also very friendly 😊

Near the most important attractions. International travelers, their outlets are not compatible with type c plugs (Europe, South America, Asia), so you mostly will need an adapter. They also have a laundry, nice for those doing long trips.

Very convenient to access tourist attraction areas. Price is great especially for budget travellers. Great staff, helpful and responsive.

Although not in the historic district, the homestay is a short walk to the seaside. Nearby are many dining places as well as shops. The room was clean, but the public area, especially the tables in the lobby where we can eat, were not clean. I had to throw away other peoples' trash. The service was excellent at the front desk. The ladies working the day I arrived were super-friendly, very patient, and full of good humor at my not-very-good-Chinese. We used a translation app to communicate, and they were able to inform me about all my questions. One surprising thing is about the breakfast. I was surprised that the breakfast is just a bag of food delivered to my door, from some other restaurant! It was sufficient and delicious, but I had to clean my own table in order to find a place to eat in the lobby. A better idea might be to eat the breakfast in your room, but I only had a tiny table in my room. Overall, this is a good value with friendly staff.

This hotel was chosen because it's close to Zhongshan Road (中山路) where I could eat Garlic-marinated Oyster, Grilled Squid, Oyster Omelette. I could go to Overseas Chinese Museum (华侨博物馆) and see Xiamen University (厦门大学) from distance. Bus 22 stop is nearby and it bring the passenger to go to Xiamen Beach facing Gulangyu(鼓浪屿). Visitor may go to the hotel by Xiamen Metro line 1 (orange line) from Xiamen North Railway Station to Zhenhai Road Station (镇海路). The room is spacious for a family with 2 young kids.
