TRAVELODGE YORK CENTRAL LAYERTHORPE

Check-in was simple, staff were helpful, room was nice and clean everything was just perfect and very close to th city centre

Handy for town, 10-15 mins walk. Free parking was main draw. Staff were friendly, hotel clean and nice clean room on top floor very quiet, comfy bed and good aircon. Breakfast good. Didn’t get towels changed on day 2 which was disappointing. And room had no drawers so had to live out of suitcase which isn’t ideal if staying for more than one night.

I was allocated Room 3 , on the ground floor opposite the door leading to the lift and stairs. The room itself was perfectly clean, bed good, everything I needed. It was the other hotel guests that were the problem. I was woken several times during the night by others going to the lift and stairs. Some people have no idea how loud they are at 1.30 in the morning. And 5.40 in the morning too. Breakfast was very good. Just avoid Room 3!

We come here on a stag do nice hotel just a little disappointed on a few things 1 the air-con didn't work we could not sleep i get you have stuff not work we paid alot of money stay here we had no where put our bags so agen had pay for early check in every hotel has a bag room breakfast was ok just a few bits there was no juice for like time we was there i did ask but never got done but but amber and Rebecca check us in there was so nice kind so abig thank you to them

As I was checking out, the person behind the desk said to me, "the boss likes to see good Trip Advisor reviews". Well, the boss certainly will not be disappointed. I stayed on Friday 11th July 2025 - a very, very hot day in York. When I got to the hotel I was advised that the air conditioning did not work so I was prepared for a very hot night. However, when I got to my room (room 114), I found that the fan in the ceiling was, indeed, working so I left it on while I went out. That, coupled with leaving the window open ensured that the room was a very pleasant temperature when I got back. The shower was absolutely perfect. Just right for my purposes. And the bed - wow! I did not wake at any point until I was due to wake up the next day and I felt that my sleep was immaculately restorative. Thank you, Travelodge Layerthorpe. Breakfast was a joy. I had stayed in a hostel in central York back in June 2025 and the array of food on offer, compared to Travelodge, was very low indeed. Lovely cooked bacon and sausage, easy tea to make and delicious fruit salad. A really pleasurable way to start a busy day. Thank you, once again, Travelodge. And thank you to the person who assisted me behind the counter. It is evident that the staff enjoy working in such a well run hotel and that rubs off very nicely onto customers.
