Hotel Isla Seca Zapallar

I had tried to upgrade our room here as I was concerned that the standard room would have low ceilings but was told they were full. Unfortunately our concerns about the room were justified as the ceilings were very slanting and the bathroom door was too low for my partner. I banged my head several times, in the end we had to move the bed which helped a bit. Our room was in a separate building across a rough path and then we had to lug our suitcase up two flights of stairs as there is no lift, in fact there are a lot of steps everywhere here so be aware. The room was pleasant enough with a lovely view and a small balcony which meant we could have the door open at night and listen to the waves. This cooled the room down well (although the staff put the heating on!). There is no AC and I think these rooms would be very hot in summer. There was a fridge, but no room safe despite the website saying there is. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed the coastal paths, there is a steep footpath to the shore or you can walk along the road to the beach. Breakfast was reasonable with good scrambled eggs and warm savoury croissants but they wanted to charge me for a decaffeinated coffee which seems mean. The pool is basically all there is of the garden and was not heated. On the day we were there it started foggy so we didn't swim. The coastal walks are lovely. The town has very basic facilities but it seems most people come here for restaurant Chiringo which is fabulous in food and view but equally pricy. We had to leave early and they helpfully gave us a box breakfast the night before.

We really enjoyed our stay for three nights. The area is beautiful to visit, and the hotel is perfectly situated. It is close to the path to the beach. We had a top floor room with a view to the ocean. It was very comfortable and extremely clean. We had dinner at the restaurant two of the three nights and really enjoyed the food and service. Breakfast was basic but good too. While in the area we took the tour to see the Humboldt penguins and went horse back riding, both with an excellent local guide, Manuel. We understand the hotel can arrange tours with Manuel, and we highly recommend to do so! A great visit to this hotel and must see area in Chile!

We have been with my wife several times at the Hotel Isla Seca, the last one in January 2024, the Hotel in general is comfortable, offers good service and its rooms are good, although they are not very spacious, it has a beautiful view of the sea in the pool area, except for some cables from the public electricity service that are right in front, which makes the view less attractive. The natural environment and its proximity to the beautiful Zapallar beach are one of its best attractions. The bad thing, I think that the hotel lacks maintenance, painting walls, painting the pool, beautifying the gardens, and improving details such as that the minibar in the rooms works, that there is no lack of soap or shampoo in the bathroom, or the remote control of the TV.

Very beatiful Hotel, with a wonderful sea view. Cozy and so confortable suites. A gourmet resturant with a delicious menu and very good wines. Very friendly and executive personnel. Located in a wonderful and one of the most exclusive coastal town in Chile. Easy to arrive from Santiago de Chile ( a short 2 hours trip). Near the beautiful beach of Zapallar with treks over the marine rocks

From checking in to seeing our room overlooking the sea, nice and clean, bed was perfect. The restaurant staff were most helpful from serving our late arrival lunch despite us not talking spanish too well met our needs perfectly, plus the pisco sour was superb and well as the food. Highly recommend staying - I've been a business traveller for on 30yrs and this 0ne had the pleasure my wife joining me and she was most impressed with our stay at Isla Seca, we will be back !

Great place for a weekend. We stayed for 2 nights in a room with terrace. Very pleasant suite with a nice ocean view. A bit noise in the morning. Excellent breakfast with many choices, fresh fruit and pastries. At night we had dinner at the restaurant, nice dishes. I would give more potential to the restaurant ambience!!. The view it´s excellent. I will come back for sure.
