Hôtels près de John Bardale, Zutphen

Nous avons passé 4 jours aux Pays-Bas, à Zutphen agréable petite ville typique. Nous logions à l´hôtel Hampshire ´s Gravenhof à un jet de pierre du centre historique. Ce bel hôtel se présente en 2 entités, 1 nouvelle et 1 ancienne. Nous logions dans l´ancienne partie au 2ème étage sur 3, avec ascenseur. L´accueil agréable ne parle que le néerlandais et l´anglais. La confortable chambre, séparée de la salle de bain par 1 petit couloir avec porte-manteaux et porte d´accès au couloir était de belles dimensions avec l´air co, 1 bureau, 1 fauteuil et 1 rangement avec coffre. La literie était bonne. Le personnel est jeune et accueillant. Le petit déjeuner est correcte, le restaurant assez bruyant. Le déjeuner était pris sous les parasols. La nourriture était joliment présentée et était aussi bonne que belle et était servie avec sourire. Il y avait le choix entre 4 entrées et plats. Attention toutefois, le tarif du parking situé devant l´hôtel est de 16,50 euros par jour, dimanche gratuit. Il est conseillé de bien préparer votre séjour car il n´y a pas de fascicules ni de renseignements sur les curiosités de la ville et environs. Ne manquez pas le fameux musée Van Gogh à +/- 50 km.

Bilderberg Hotel De Keizerskroon is a wonderful newly renovated hotel with alot of history. Very professional,friendly,accomodating staff and the restaurant is definitely one you should not miss. The hotel is right next to the palace ”Het Loo” and close to many other attractions in Apeldoorn and other nearby villages. They also have a nice size heated pool.Definitely a place I would recommend.

L'hôtel est idéalement situé à côté de la gare centrale et au bord du centre commercial. Dans le hall, vous pouvez travailler et prendre un thé ou un café gratuits. Le personnel est jeune et informel. Les chambres ne sont pas grandes, mais un bon lit et une salle de bains. Malheureusement, nous trouvons le péché de mort pour chaque chambre d'hôtel: une bouteille de glisseur des anciens clients sous le lit. Bien que la chambre n'était pas saine, c'est bien sûr un point d'attention.

Just a short (thankfully downhill) walk from the railway station (extensive rail and bus services give easy access to almost anywhere in the Netherlands) the hotel is an even shorter walk from the north bank of the Nederrijn with its shady walks and numerous restaurants. Very handy as there is no restaurant at any IHG Express. As I arrived mid-morning the room was not ready but the staff (more about them later) were happy to store my case until I returned that afternoon (and again after checkout before leaving on an afternoon train). The room itself was a good size with a large comfortable bed, a functional desk and chair and a comfortable chair. Air conditioning kept the temperature stable and the lighting was good - not the ”fashionable” near darkness of some. Bathroom was good with a spacious shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea available. Breakfast is the only meal offered and is a fairly basic standard european offering. Meats, eggs and cheeses were adequate, yoghurt good, fresh fruit salad very good indeed. Coffee was machine provided and good with a variety of offerings. No hot options (standard with the Express brand) and I did not try any of the other cold choices. Although fairly centrally located with easy access to shops and all the usual facilities and infrastructure the room was quiet and peaceful. An Albert Heijn mini-supermarket opposite attracted small groups in the evening but was not a bother - indeed very useful for an occasional small purchase. All standard and as expected for the brand so why mark it excellent? I will come back to the staff who were unfailingly excellent - helpful, cheery and friendly (though never less than professional) and recognised me by the end of day 1. A credit to the hotel and its management. This is now my first choice when next in the vicinity
