Warm period atmosphere hotel. Very clean, quiet and spaceous rooms. A few small steps to negotiate to room but no problem for us. Very good value. No meals or breakfast served but great location to walk to cafes and pubs. Also near town centre. Covered car park at hotel. Excellent discount for residents but be aware spaces limited and cannot be reserved. It is also available to non residents so can get busy. We would certainly return.

À l'arrivée/au check-in nous avons été informés de notre numéro de chambre et nous avons donné notre carte clé, mais aucune information n'a été fournie. Les chambres sont très confortables et confortables. La chambre était belle, un peu crampée même pour une chambre privilégiée du roi. Pas beaucoup d'espace pour marcher, trop de chaises inutiles. La chambre et la salle de bain étaient propres. Mini réfrigérateur était bien stocké avec de l'eau et des boissons douces gratuitement. La télévision dans la chambre était une télévision intelligente, nous avons pu regarder Netflix via miroir qui était excellent. Le lit était confortable avec plusieurs options de coussin. Sockets et points de charge USB sur les deux côtés de la chambre, grand pour le chargement de plusieurs dispositifs. Le petit déjeuner est très bon, mais il est très bon, très bon, très bon, très bon. Nous avons visité les installations de piscine à plusieurs reprises pendant notre séjour. Il était juste de taille moyenne. Avec un jacuzzi séparé et une salle à vapeur et une saune. L'eau de piscine était une belle température, un peu chaude qui se sentait vraiment très belle. L'éclairage dans la zone de piscine était faible, assez vague. Les lockers dans la zone de changement ont besoin d'un arrêt, comme nous ne savions pas que nous n'avions pas pris. Certains sièges sont disponibles sur le côté de la piscine qui nous pouvions mettre les choses. La chambre à manger était bien placée avec un grand espace pour se déplacer. Le petit déjeuner avait plusieurs options, y compris des options végétariennes disponibles sur demande. En général, un séjour agréable.

A Wonderful Stay at the Lowfield Inn – A Hidden Gem on the English-Welsh Border We had a fantastic stay at the Lowfield Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Our family room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with plenty of room to relax, including a sofa. The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep in a quiet and peaceful setting. The inn features a lovely common area and a roof terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The scenery is stunning and perfect for enjoying long walks along the border between England and Wales. The pub itself is a true highlight—offering a great selection of traditional cask ales and a very welcoming beer garden where you can enjoy the evening sun. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the staff are genuinely helpful and accommodating. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as pencils and paper provided for children. As for the food: it was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The menu offers a wonderful mix of traditional English pub fare and Indian dishes, all prepared with creativity and care. The starters were delicious, the mains were generous and satisfying, and the desserts were absolutely indulgent. The children’s menu was also well thought out and very appealing. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a wide selection and very generous portions—no one left hungry! There’s also plenty of parking space, which made everything even easier. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return the next time we’re in the area.

We visited Lion Quays on a midweek night away - I have wanted to try the hotel for a while. The receptionist was very friendly on arrival but warned us that the lift was broken that day. She offered help with our bags - which we declined. But we would have struggled if we had poor mobility as we were on the top floor. We were in room 312 with a view of the canal which was lovely. However there was a hole worn in the top cover on the bed - it didn't affect us but it looked bad. We noticed alot of the furniture in the hotel was worn - particularly in the dining room where the seats and arms were bald. We had a sandwich and a beer out on the patio before we visited the leisure club which we had been looking forward to. The steam room was out of order and closed and the light in the rustic sauna was not working although it was open. Since it was mid August - this was pretty disappointing. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel- instead going to Henlle Heights nearby for a fantastic Indian meal. We slept well in the room, the bed felt very soft but was really comfy. There was a fan provided but we didn't use it. The following morning we discovered the lift had been fixed. We really enjoyed breakfast, a fine selection of hot and cold options to help yourself and spent some time sitting out near the canal with our coffees which was super relaxing. We did like Lion Quays and we would return however there just seemed to be a few rough edges which came across as lack of care which was a real shame.

We stayed at the Days Inn Telford Ironbridge for a quick overnight stop on a road trip, and overall, I was pleasantly surprised. The location is perfect—just off the M54 at a service area, which made it really convenient without needing to go into town. Despite being near the motorway, the room was surprisingly quiet and I had no trouble sleeping. The room itself was clean and well-kept, with all the basics I needed for a short stay—comfortable bed, TV, free Wi-Fi, and a kettle for tea/coffee. It’s not luxury, but for the price, it delivers solid value. The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient, even though I arrived a bit late in the evening. There’s no restaurant in the hotel itself, but being attached to the service station meant I had access to a few food options, which was handy. Also, it’s just a short drive to Telford town centre or Ironbridge Gorge if you’re staying longer and want to explore the area. Overall, it’s a no-frills stay, but it’s exactly what I needed—clean, convenient, and comfortable. Would definitely stay again if passing through the area.

Brilliant hotel right in the town centre, easy to find just off the motorway. The swimming pool was lovely and warm with good showers and lockers. The breakfast was superb with as much as you can eat. The view from our lovely with green grass and trees. We would love to come back.

The hotel was very well run, the staff were friendly and attentive and the service was exceptional. The hotel offers excellent value for money and the food served was of very good quality. Overall, I recommend this hotel for anyone looking to visit and stay over in Shrewsbury.

This was my second stay at The Prince Rupert hotel-already looking forward to my third ! Very welcoming-staff are great-breakfasts excellent-an all-round unique hotel.

This is a lovely place, we stayed in the ‘cottage’ which was more like an annexe building and it had two rooms of which we occupied one. The room was good, we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room and the breakfast menu had a lot of choice too which was great. There were options for a full English style breakfast, but also options for cereals and fruits etc. We decided to try dinner at the hotel one evening and we were extremely happy with our choice. The food was excellent quality and very enjoyable. The hotel is a short walk into the centre, very close to the castle which is worth a visit and you can see the castle from the road you walk on from the hotel to the city.

I stayed at the hotel to be close to a venue I needed to be the next day. The hotel was clean and staff were available and friendly. Free parking is available. The hotel is very near a co op supermarket and petrol station. There is a pub restaurent next door the Squrriel which uses taste card. If you plan to eat there make a reservation and eat early. The town is nearby but would be a bit of a walk and I didn't see any bus stops for local transport links. The town of Ludlow is only a few minutes and free parking available after 6 pm behind town square. Again could be a good idea to book a table if you need dinner. This is a good Travelodge to stay at.
