Burst water main impacts services to/from Hertford East

    Période:Du Vendredi 19 décembre 2025 au Mercredi 24 décembre 2025
    Opérateurs:Greater Anglia
Informations complémentaires:A burst water main at Rye House has caused flooding of the railway line and damage to the station, closing all lines at this station. As a result of this, trains are unable to run between Broxbourne and Hertford East, and will either be cancelled in full or revised to run between London Liverpool Street / Stratford (London) and Broxbourne only. Please do not travel between Broxbourne and Hertford East until further notice. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on Wednesday 24 December. Customer advice: Due to flooding caused by a burst water main at Rye House on the Hertford East branch line, train services are suspended between Broxbourne and Hertford East. Train services are not currently expected to be restored until Wednesday 24 December. In the meantime, a limited replacement bus service will operate between Broxbourne and Hertford East, but you are advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary, and to look at alternative travel options wherever practical. Tickets may be used on Great Northern services to and from Hertford North. Depending on the journeys involved, customers may also wish to consider using other West Anglia main line stations or local bus services. The extensive impact of the ongoing flooding, the complexity of the task and time needed to stem the flow, the work then needed to clean up the affected area, and the subsequent repairs required to both rail infrastructure (track and signalling) and Rye House station, all mean it is expected to take a number of days to complete the necessary work and reintroduce the normal service. We will keep everyone updated on the progress of the repairs and the plans to restore a normal service. Ticket acceptance: To help with your journey your ticket can be used at no extra cost on Great Northern services between Moorgate and Hertford North, which is approximately a 20 minute distance from Hertford East. Rail replacement transport: Your journey may involve travelling on an accessible replacement bus. Very limited rail replacement buses will also be in service. You can see rail replacement information. Please note that e-scooters, electric and full size bicycles are not permitted on rail replacement vehicles. Further information: Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled. Specific train service alterations and live departure boards are available to help plan your journey.

Flooding suspends services between Liskeard and Looe

    Période:Du Mardi 23 décembre 2025 au Dimanche 4 janvier 2026
    Opérateurs:Great Western Railway
Informations complémentaires:Flooding of the railway line between Liskeard and Looe means that all lines are closed. As a result of this, trains running between these stations will be cancelled. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on Sunday 4 January. Please note there is no service on Thursday 25 December, Sunday 28 December, and also Sunday 4 January. Customer advice: Rail replacement transport, provided by A2B minibus, will depart Liskeard and Looe at train times and call at Sandplace in both directions. Please wait for the minibus at the rail replacement bus stops. The replacement road transport may run later than the advertised train times owing to the additional time taken by road between stations and the time required for loading and unloading at each stop. If you are travelling from Coombe Junction Halt, St Keyne Wishing Well Halt or Causeland please use the customer help point or contact National Rail Enquiries on 03457 484 950 detailing the total number of passengers in your party and your intended destination. You may use your ticket, at no extra cost, on Go Cornwall Bus route 73 between Liskeard (bus stops on the main road adjacent to the station entrance), St Keyne (community centre), Sandplace (station) and Looe (bus stops on main road opposite the station). Additional information: Great Western Railway are working with Network Rail to be able to re-open the line. The water levels have now receded and Network Rail will be arranging for the bridges to be inspected. Some of the inspections require the use of divers, so that the parts of the bridge below the water level can be inspected. At the moment the water is running too fast for divers to be deployed and there are no divers available until the 4 Jan 2026. Check before you travel: You can check your journey today and up to and including Saturday 27 December using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. For journeys from Monday 29 December, please check back at a later date. For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please use our Rail Replacement Services page. You can find the pick-up and set-down location of rail replacement services by checking station signage or by searching for your station on our Find a Station page. Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and you should allow extra time for your journey.
