L'endroit était agréable, mais assez excentré ; il fallait prendre le bus ou un taxi pour se déplacer. Il y a de jolis parcs et temples à proximité, mais c'est vraiment un quartier résidentiel. L'endroit est agréable et paisible. Un bon restaurant d'udon local est à deux pas et il y a un restaurant de gyoza tout près. Le seul problème était le manque de propreté. En remplissant la baignoire, j'ai constaté qu'elle était pleine de détritus et, en y regardant de plus près, j'ai vu de longs cheveux de femme sur le rebord. Aucune femme n'y séjournait. La baignoire de la salle de bain était également moisie, ce qui a provoqué des démangeaisons et une éruption cutanée. Il a fallu la désinfecter à l'eau de Javel pour l'enlever. La chambre n'avait pas été dépoussiérée et il y avait aussi des cheveux. À part ça, le propriétaire était poli et consciencieux, mais il nous avait demandé de communiquer par WeChat, ce qui ne m'a pas plu. Il acceptait cependant les e-mails après le premier message.

What a beautiful place! Kiraku Kyoto Honmachi is a house which has been refurbished with subtle taste and delightful creativity. There’s definitely magic to it! I loved walking on the pebbles in the downstairs bedroom - so soothing for sore feet. There’s also a smooth walkway to the bed if pebbles aren’t your thing. Upstairs there’s a tokonoma with scroll, as well as a full set of equipment for carrying out a tea ceremony, including of course, matcha. The host even had delicious matcha “financiers” waiting for us upon arrival. The outdoor bath is brilliant. It’s quite easy to fill and I’d highly recommend having an outdoor soak every night. Seeing as some in our group weren’t up for tourism in the city, it was doubly worthwhile to have stayed in such a house where they could breathe in Kyoto atmosphere without ever moving from the tatami!

Rinn Shiki Juraku is such a lovely property. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The Townhouse 5 is so spacious, with a comfortable bed. We were very pleased that the TV supported Netflix for watching a series after a busy day exploring. The bathtub is huge and takes over an hour to fill. You must check on the water temperature halfway through because the hot water runs out and the tub will fill with ice-cold water. The air conditioners are also a bit noisy. The reception area offers earplugs if you are sensitive to noise while sleeping. The location is good for walking to Nijo Castle, which is a recommended tourist attraction (and worth it). Other areas such as Fushimi Inari or Gion, it is recommended to use Uber or the metro. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Highly recommended for getting authentic and unique experience of staying at the Japanese house. Great location, near to Shoji Dori, a huge shopping street, a short bus ride to Gion and metro station allowing to get to all historical attractions. The home is really nice, with all necessary amenities, clean and roomy. Want to specifically mention its interior decorations, really awesome. Tourist tip: print out your reservation with the home’s address in Japanese to avoid any difficulties with finding your way to the location, you show it to the taxi drivers and they will find the place. And special thanks to the Team: you are so helpful and friendly!

Il est situé à environ 5 minutes de la station de Kyoto. Il dispose de 4 étages qui sont le plus haut de la planche, un bain et un lit. Il n'y a pas de service de nettoyage mais il faut payer plus si vous voulez. Il y a 3 chambres avec 6 lits uniques et un lit de taille Queen jusqu'à 8 personnes. Les chambres sont très propres et les lits sont très confortables. Ils comprennent frigo, micro-ondes, argent, plaques, bowls et couvercles. La machine à laver est sur le haut du plancher.

Il est un endroit très calme et les installations sont très bonnes. Les lits sur le plancher tatami sont si bons que j'ai dormi comme un bébé pour toutes les trois nuits. Le seul inconvénient est qu'il n'y a pas de service de nettoyage pour mon séjour de trois nuits, ce qui fait des décharges un peu confus! Mais en général, il est superbe d'avoir une expérience de séjour dans cette belle vieille maison japonaise, avec toutes les convictions modernes telles que le chauffage du sol, pour une vacances de Kyodo.

We enjoyed our stay at this accommodation in Kyoto. Although the check-in counter is located separately from the property itself, it is easily accessible from Kyoto Station, and the hotel provides complimentary taxi transfer service from the check-in counter to the accommodation. The only drawback was that the entire property has just one bathroom, though it does come with two toilets.

Hautement recommandé! Une expérience familiale très satisfaisante. Je suis très reconnaissant à mon ami d'avoir recommandé ce Kyoto Machiya. La maison à étage peut accueillir quatre d'entre nous, ainsi que des bains extérieurs. Bien que je ne sois resté qu'une nuit, j'y retournerai certainement la prochaine fois que je reviendrai à Kyoto !

The stay was awesome, equipped with necessary kitchen appliances and cutleries, as well as toiletries. Interiors of the house was so beautiful and nicely designed! There were 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets, separated, which accommodates our group of 7 very well! The stay is very very near to Fushimi Inari!

Newly renovated when we stayed back in May, the place is very much in the neighborhood but directly accessible to the kamo river. It was a bit out from the city area, luckily the host provided two bikes but it was so inconvenient to park the bike! Overall we are happy with the stay!
