The gardens were conceived in 1964 to take advantage of St Lucia’s rich volcanic soil, the island’s perfect growing conditions, and Morne Trulah’s spectacular views. Beginning on the west side of the property, one enjoys perfect serenity walking along the top of a seaside cliff shaded by ancient old-growth trees. The pathway itself is covered with a carpet of zoisa grass and meanders through hundreds of coconut palms, bananas, pineapples, citrus, cocoa, passion fruit and scores of other tropical species. It is unimaginably beautiful.The path emerges at the north end of the property where one enjoys uninterrupted views of Martinique and Pigeon Island while strolling amongst the coconut palms and bogenvilla. Around the east side of the property gentle waves crash into Trouya Beach as one winds around to the Morne Trulah vegetable and herb gardens. Kitchen Garden  As a Morne Trulah guest you are free to pick whatever vegetables, fruits and herbs you like. Or tell one of the gardeners what you would like and they will pick it for you and prepare it for your table. Depending upon the season, enjoy fresh mangoes, pineapples, bananas, watermelon, pumpkin, tomatoes, grapefruit, and many other vegetables and fruits. If you like to cook, help yourself to the fresh thyme, basil, parsley, bay, rosemary and the many other herbs growing there.Croquet Lawn  Morne Trulah boasts the island’s only croquet lawn. Created by the head greenskeeper for the Saint Lucia Golf Club, the green features a 21 metre-long expanse with idyllic, 180 degree views over Rodney Bay toward Pigeon Island and Martinique. The Villa is a very large with 7 oversized en-suite bedrooms. The property boasts one of the most enviable ‘dramatic Views’ on the prestigious Cap Estate, looking centrally over Plantation beach and the Sandals golf course from an elevated position.We are in close proximity to Pigeon Island which has some of the most fabulous beaches on the island as well epic snorkeling and we are just 7 minutes in a vehicle to Rodney Bay and all its fantastic amenities.We will happily assist in planning your perfect stay, arrange local and airport transportation as well as advise on the many wonderful excursions St. Lucia has to offer.The property itself benefits from a large function/bar area which is a fabulous entertaining space, outdoor dining area, very large swimming pool, pool bar, double kitchen and large dining rooms. We also benefit from an almost constant cooling Windward breeze and all guestrooms and the bar area have modern AC units.The generous space allows larger families and groups to stay together whilst being able to maintain lots of individual privacy. It is also a fabulous space for smaller wedding parties and we have hosted many functions and weddings at the property.Included in the rate are domestic staff to clean the property throughout your stay. We also offer dining and chef options to suit all budgets in order to create everything from family style meals to fine dining and everything else in between, allowing you to relax and enjoy the property whilst we do all the work. After living in the region for many years, I (with my architectural background) decided to design a home where all the benefits of the Caribbean life can be enjoyed. The Sea, the Sun, and the Nature… at Black Pearl Estate you feel the presence of these three elements around you at all times. With this open-style Villa, you have breath taking views of the Sea and neighboring islands. Almost every day, the Sun is shining and the Nature is all around you. The house is surrounded by a lush tropical vegetation with many flowers and fruit trees such as lime, mangoes, avocados, golden apples, guavas, coconuts, sugar canes, bananas, breadfruits, pawpaws, local plums and more. We also like to grow our own herbs and vegetables. Staying in this environment gives you a real feeling of being away from everything, yet you are just 7 minutes´ drive from Rodney Bay. We do recommend a vehicle and as we are on top of a hill, access will be more comfortable with a 4x4 or AWD vehicle. We look forward to welcoming you! We both have a wealth of knowledge about the area and we wish to ensure your stay in our beautiful St Lucia is a memorable one. What is unique with Black Pearl Estate is that you have a feeling to be away from everything. It is calm, peaceful and relaxing but you are in fact only 7 minutes away from Rodney Bay where all what you may need. Beach, bars, restaurant, casino, marina, supermarkets, shopping malls, banks and more Because it is on top of a hill, the access will be much more comfortable with a AWD or 4X4 vehicle. 3 bedrooms have air-conditioning. There is an exercise machine that you are freely to use.
