The hotel room is pretty big by Japan standards, and the feeling of the hotel is really grand! Lots of locals were staying there, but the rooms are a little bit dated. The toilet lights were quite dim and the bathrooms could use an update. However, everything worked perfectly and the stay was still extremely enjoyable! The hotel is situated right next to a bus stop so that makes things super convenient! There’s also a family mart behind the hotel (shortcut! go out of the main door, turn right, walk down the ramp, immediately turn right and right again into the small path, go up the stairs past the hotel park, then turn left and cross the small roads, and you’ll find the konbini) The hotel also rents out bicycles to hotel guests FOC, so you can take the bike literally anywhere! We rode to the supermarket (~10 mins away) and also down by the river (10/10 recommended!) and just explored lots around! Gifu is a lovely quiet town and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to experience a side of Japan that isn’t just Tokyo or Osaka.

Magnifique hôtel à l'ancienne, riche d'une histoire riche, qui propose même une séance d'art à 17 h, où les clients peuvent admirer certaines des œuvres les plus impressionnantes de l'hôtel (en japonais uniquement). L'hôtel dispose de trois bains publics, dont un au 9e étage avec vue panoramique sur la rivière, ouvert 24h/24 ! Incroyable ! Le personnel est très sympathique et certains parlent très bien anglais ! Des navettes régulières desservent la gare, même si celle de Gero est à 5 minutes à pied. J'y retournerais sans hésiter !

Hotel was modern and nice. Overcrowded with tourists who are not very hygienic as tourists groups do patronise the hotel quite abit. Location was great!

Our room was spacious and presented with a private onsen of which we can use any time at our convenience. Because of that, hardly anyone uses the shared private onsen, though the view there is better than that in our rooms. Also, there was no elevator at the hotel, so we had to carry our luggages up and down the stairs, thankfully the hotel only has 2 levels, and the hotel staff were nice enough to help us carry our luggages up into our rooms. Free parking is available, which is essential as the hotel is not situated nearby any public transport. But it is within 15 to 30 min drive to nearby attractions. The hotel was quite strict on the meal times as dinner and breakfast are served at 6pm and 8am sharp respectively. We arrived the hotel late on our first night (around 7pm) and almost missed our dinner (and almost got our room cancelled). We were served hida beef in different cooking style at dinner for both nights of our stay, one steamed and one grilled. Both tasted delicious! All the staff were very friendly and always wearing a grin on their faces. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

L'hôtel est situé près de la gare JR. Vous pouvez vous y rendre à pied en 6 à 10 minutes ou en prenant la navette de l'hôtel. Cependant, cet hôtel est éloigné de la vieille ville et du marché du matin. Vous devrez prendre la navette de l'hôtel, mais celle pour le marché de Jinya ne circule que le matin. Ensuite, vous devrez prendre une autre navette jusqu'à la gare JR, puis marcher jusqu'à la vieille ville. Le restaurant izakaya de l'hôtel est délicieux. Vous n'aurez pas besoin de sortir. Vous pourrez profiter d'un onsen, puis dîner à l'hôtel. Le distributeur automatique de l'hôtel ne propose pas de bière, mais vous trouverez un large choix de bières, de saké et de whisky à la boutique de souvenirs, qui ferme à 22h. Si vous souhaitez en acheter après cette heure, vous devrez vous rendre au 7-Eleven situé en face de l'hôtel. Le personnel de l'hôtel est accueillant et offre un excellent service. J'ai beaucoup apprécié.

Great stay overall, one of their baths was under renovation when I visited, which is a bummer. This is one of the places where the facilities age like fine wine. You can feel that it's dated but extremely well maintained, which I appreciate a lot. Breakfast was also amazing, there were a ton of options. The place is great for families and couples wanting to relax for a night or two.
