In general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

Les chambres sont très bon marché.. petit frigo à l'intérieur.. mais vous pouvez entendre les autres parler dans les halls.. petit déjeuner gratuit bon prix

The hostel is a welcome respite from the chaos of Cairo. Note that there are two floors, 1 and 4, but are connected by a vintage elevator as well as a stairwell. Breakfast provided each day was sincerely appreciated and delicious, made fresh for each person. The beds are comfortable and equipped with a small light and a power outlet to charge your devices. There is a common area to hang out with others and meet people. Some of the fittings are broken in the bathrooms but you will get by fine.

When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

Nous avons réservé un logement à court terme et lorsque nous sommes arrivés tard dans la nuit, le propriétaire nous a quand même accueillis chaleureusement et nous a présenté les installations de l'auberge. En plus du beau design intérieur et extérieur, l'auberge propose également une cuisine, un micro-ondes, un réfrigérateur, une cuisinière, des casseroles, etc. Il y a même une piscine dans l'arrière-cour. L'auberge dispose à la fois de chambres simples et de dortoirs, mais contrairement aux auberges de jeunesse dans lesquelles j'ai séjourné auparavant, celle-ci a des étages très hauts, probablement plus de quatre mètres, donc même les lits dans les dortoirs sont très confortables, et vous pouvez vous tenir debout complètement sur les couchettes supérieures et inférieures. Les dortoirs des filles et des garçons sont situés à des étages différents et il y a des toilettes et des douches spéciales réservées aux femmes. Les filles se sentiront donc très en sécurité si elles y restent seules. La chambre simple dans laquelle nous avons séjourné était très spacieuse, entièrement équipée et disposait d'un balcon avec de la verdure visible depuis la fenêtre. Contrairement à tous les autres hôtels où j'ai séjourné en Egypte, la literie fournie par cette auberge était très neuve et confortable, ce qui est vraiment rare en Egypte. Peu importe le prix des hôtels dans lesquels j'ai séjourné auparavant, même les hôtels d'Hurghada qui coûtaient des milliers de dollars la nuit, les draps et les housses de couette étaient tous boulochés, usés et très rugueux. L'auberge offre des services complets. Du thé gratuit est proposé dans les espaces publics. Il y a également de nombreuses tables, chaises et canapés où vous pouvez vous allonger ou vous asseoir à volonté. Il y a du personnel spécial pour surveiller la nuit, donc c'est très sûr. Les conditions sanitaires de l'ensemble de l'auberge sont comparables à celles d'un hôtel cinq étoiles. C'est tellement propre et soigné qu'on a l'impression de ne pas être en Égypte... Si nécessaire, le propriétaire vous proposera un petit-déjeuner délicieux et peu coûteux, fraîchement préparé après votre commande. Comme nous venions tout juste de quitter le Désert Noir et Blanc, il était difficile de laver nos vêtements à la main, alors le patron nous a fourni des services de blanchisserie et de séchage. Le prix était incroyablement bas, il suffisait d’une douzaine de yuans pour laver et sécher un tas de vêtements. Il y a aussi un chaton mignon dans l'auberge, et la plupart des clients qui y séjournent adorent jouer avec elle. L'auberge est très bien située, en plein centre-ville, très proche du musée national égyptien et pratique pour les restaurants et les magasins. J'écris rarement des critiques sérieuses, mais cette auberge est vraiment l'endroit le plus confortable et le plus rassurant dans lequel j'ai séjourné en Égypte.

The location is at city center nearby to Egyptian Museum. Plenty of amenities within 10 minutes walk. The famed Koshary Abu Tarek is within 6 minutes walk. The rooms are well maintained. There is a staff at the reception 24/7. Guests of all ages and nationalities can be accomodated. Suggestion for improvement: 1. The towels to be issued upon check-in and not upon request. 2. The lift need to be upgraded as I was ever caught inside when there is a power trip. And often the lift did not operate because the lift door was not closed properly. Understand that the lift is not manage by your hostel. Please request for it from the building owner as it is not acceptable. 3. Consider centralized air condition system. Anyone can turn off the air conditioner affecting others.

The hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum, The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean. The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them ** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn. Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice

L'environnement de l'hôtel est assez bon. Il y a un toit avec vue sur la ville. L'emplacement est également bon. Il est au centre-ville et a des endroits très pratiques pour manger. Il est très approprié pour se promener en ville. Il y a toujours de l'eau chaude dans la chambre ! ! Frappez le point ! De nombreux logements au Caire font bouillir de l'eau et il faut attendre longtemps pour que la personne précédente l'utilise, mais ce n'est pas le cas chez eux. La seule chose qui me manquait, c'est que les couvertures dans la chambre n'avaient pas l'air très propres... Le gars de la réception a également fourni un très bon service. Mon ami a même appelé un Uber pour son vol tôt le matin.

L'emplacement est super, le personnel de l'hôtel est très accueillant. C'est la meilleure expérience de séjour en Egypte depuis trois semaines. La terrasse du 6ème étage est superbe et la salle à manger est très confortable. Je choisirai à nouveau cet endroit la prochaine fois que je viendrai au Caire

Excellent location near Tahrir Square / Egyptian Museum and Sadat Metro Station. Staff were excellent in particular the manager Mr Ahmed receptionist Alaa and house keeping Azze. Breakfast was good. 7 floors reception and communal lounge on top floor. Whilst we were there I was admitted to hospital they checked up on me daily via my wife and friend who was also staying at the hotel. Warm welcome back when I recovered. About 20 to 30 minute car journey to GEM and the Giza Plateau / Pyramids and Sphinx. About 45 minutes to an hour drive to both Sphinx and Cairo Airports
