HOTEL STAFF were very excellent and courteous. Always helped with any problem encountered. Management and ownership were very professional and acted like they cared about your stay. Concerning the hotel accommodations and Staff interaction I would rate this hotel an EXCELLENT. However, my reason for selecting a 3//5 rating is THE FAULT OF WINDHAM HOTEL CORPERATE for the low score. I would rate them a 1/5. Here's why: 1. They don't seem to care about any customer that books through a non Windham agency. No rewards given at all. (We did stay in their facility didn't we???? Only if booked though them will you get any ”points”. At least give ”some points or rewards”. 2. Their policy on no accepting a virtual card for payment per their ”Out of Country Reservation System” (Real AMERICAN Supporting Corporation, HA!). Most people use virtual cards for safety and security. 3. The facility does not have a ”NO BACKING IN” Policy for parking. That leaves them liable if some one succumbs to Exhaust fumes from vehicles that are parked in backwards with the tail pipe very close proximity of the A/C unites in each room. We were in our room for over 2 hours to take a nap, and when we got ready to leave we had extreme headaches and felt very light headed and woozy. We realized that a vehicle had been backed into the space in front of our room while the engine ran the whole time we were in the room sleeping. The A/C had ****** in exhaust the whole time we had napped. VERY DANGEROUS. When advised the owner HE immediately told us that he would initiate a strict policy against backed in Parking. In talking with some of the staff during the more than sufficient breakfast of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, huge waffles, and very delicious breakfast sausage, along with what is often standard for Economy Lodging of other companies of cold breakfast cereal and toast, rolls and perhaps some fruit and yogurt. Nothing too fancy but just what a traveler wants to start the day. Several indicated after we thanked them for the great breakfast that WYNDHAM was indicating that ”breakfast was being phased OUT???? !!!!!. That is probably the one thing that is a determiner of whether to stay or not. NO Breakfast!! NO STAY! I realize that it is probable to say that most of the WYNDHAM Hierarchy has NOT ever stayed overnight in the Days Inn Facilities across the country. I'm sure they stay in the HIGH CLASS hotels instead who have excellent breakfasts usually. Eliminate a good breakfast and eliminate a great many of your patrons. You will for sure get a big -1 rating for that. 4. There is NO place to hang your clothes while staying there overnight or for an extended few days. One likes to be able to hang up the clothes and relax instead of living out of the suitcase. No closet in the room. Only a colored board on the wall with two extremely large L shaped hooks that will not let a shirt even be hung without falling down. Hangers if you have them will not fit on them either. When asked about why the staff personnel simply stated that WYNDHAM removed the closets and replaced them with the ”two useless deformed hooks” (that's last part is my rendition” not what they really said.) When asked why, they said they have no answer simply lots of complaints about it. MY PLEA is: ”WAKE UP WYNDHAM” and stop being like so many corporations are who seem to only care about the ”ALMIGHTY DOLLAR” instead of being there to REALLY serve the public who may not be so wealthy and for whom the ”Economy Hotels” were made for. They still need to be comfortable and usable. l

J'ai récemment eu le plaisir de rester dans un auberge de jeunesse qui était vraiment extrêmement qualifié. Le centre-ville est situé dans une zone résidentielle, où il est très confortable, et où il offre un repos tranquille à la rue, à moins de 10 minutes pour être exact. L'auberge est gérée par un couple accueillant dont l'hospitalité ne connaissait pas de limites, qui ne voulaient pas seulement aider à résoudre les problèmes qui se sont posés mais aussi aller au-dessus et au-delà en fournissant des vélos. Ce touche considérable a considérablement amélioré ma mobilité autour de Houston, permettant de me rendre à différents destinations rapidement. Ce qui a séparé cet auberge a été l'attention au détail et la gamme d'équipements complimentaires, y compris les cookies, le lait, les céréales, le café et le thé. La propreté et la technologie intelligente de la maison ont contribué à un séjour sans soudure, ce qui l'a fait de la meilleure expérience d'auberge que j'aie jamais eue. Les serviettes de bains doublées en forme de swans étaient un testement à la dévouement des propriétaires pour les détails, ajoutant un touche d'élégance et de soins. Le chauffage de la maison était similaire à être à la maison, avec les propriétaires toujours prêts à discuter, enthousiastes à répondre aux questions, et à partager leurs histoires et leurs expériences. Pour moi, une des principales caractéristiques était la carte du monde sur le mur de la salle de séjour, où les invités pourraient pincer leurs pays d'origine a une façon amusante et interactive de se connecter avec les voyageurs. En résumé, cet auberge n'était qu'un endroit pour rester, il se sentait comme un foyer, ou peut-être plus précisément, un séjour à domicile.

Le gestionnaire m'a payé 5 $. Pas un grand rabais, mais tout aide. La chambre était très propre, bien qu'elle avait un odeur de blanchisseur. Beaucoup de contractants et leurs familles restent à l'hôtel et parlent devant notre porte jusqu'à la fin et au début de l'après-midi.

This was the cleanest and nicest experience I have ever had at a budget motel. The staff was really nice. It was a very busy weekend for the town (George Strait) and I don't think they were used to being fully booked up on one night and having to turn over the entire hotel for the next night being booked up with new guests. We arrived a little after check out and they didn't have a room quite ready yet, but we didn't have to wait long and they were very nice and apologetic about it. The property has clearly been renovated recently and was very clean. I share the same complaint as other reviews regarding the shower not having a door, curtain, or lip to catch the water and heat. We just kept the door shut and put a towel down and it wasn't that big of a deal, but definitely a design flaw. The door into the room also had some fitting issues. There were clear gaps. Luckily, this didn't cause any safety, noise, or temperature control issues, but again this was a clear design / fitting issue. Loved that they had a Firestick TV in the room and I was able to sign into my streaming services, because who watches live TV anymore? JK JK. We were right next to the highway, so you could hear cars passing by. If you like white noise while sleeping, this is a great substitute, but if you need dead quite, they offer free earplugs at the desk! The bed was not the best, but all-in-all this was a good place to hang your hat and call home for a night.

I had a disappointing experience at the Wyndham Austin. At check-in I was charged an additional $50 fee that was not clearly explained beforehand. The receptionist insisted that I sign a document and the situation felt uncomfortable and somewhat pressuring. The way the extra charge was handled made me feel insecure as a guest. Because of this, I did not feel comfortable handing over my passport and only showed a photo instead. Travelers should be aware that additional charges may appear at check-in and that the process was not clearly communicated. Transparency and clearer explanations would improve the experience for guests.

Worked for what I needed it for. No frills.

One of the best locations on all of South Padre. The door of my room was literally only steps away from the beach with parking just as close. This made coming and going very easy with no elevators or long walks to the parking area. On the down side, there were people out on the shared front deck until midnight several nights in a row. They were not excessively noisy but they did have music playing the entire time. Could have done without that but it was not enough to keep me from enjoying my stay. If peace and solitude is what you need, probably should consider staying somewhere else. Otherwise, this is an ideal location at a very reasonable price. Did not visit the bar and there was no food service available at the time of my stay.
