Hotel Østersø

We have slept this month two nights in your hotel during our trip through Denmark. In this period we have stayed in several hotels in your beautiful country. The hotels where we have spent the night and used breakfast vary from ordinary to exclusive and everything in between. During our trip we have never had such a nice place to stay as in your hotel. Great vintage a**osphere, internet, good beds, good breakfast and in our case a great view over the sea. Plus, we enjoyed the food in the Under Sejlet restaurant nearby. Thanks and special thanks for the lady who took care of our breakfasts. She did a great job! We'll be happy to come back!

This was awful. I didn't mind the a**osphere, the bed, or the state of cleanliness. I had a nice chat with the woman serving breakfast. But I used the charger at the back for overnight charging my EV. There were three, and I used my own cable to sucessfully charge from one. The next morning, my cable did not come off. I phones four times to the emergency number indicated on the poster, but they could not FIND the three chargers in their system, end hence not release my cable. I had to leave the cable behind and buy a new one for DKK 1649. In messages, the hotel wrote me that they weee not responsible for the chargers. Later, they reported me that they had the cable and could send it to me. I had to pay the postal fee, DKK 225. So the one-night stay at this hotel turned out rather costy.

Please do NOT book a room at this socalled "hotel". No employees. The room we got was really in a very poor state and we only used the room for a night's sleep. We did not feel comfortable and when you look at the price it is much too expensive. Unfortunately we booked a night at the "hotel" which made our stay unsuccessfull. If you have to sleep in Aabenraa please choose another hotel. This is a bad kind of money machine. Stay away. You will regret any booking here.

Old, worn out and totally overpriced. I looked online for a hotel were pets are allowed and therefore set a filter 'pets allowed" on a booking side. I have just crossed 4 countries by car, travelling from Turkey to Denmark, so i have stayed in several hotels on the way. Hotel Østersøen came up in the list of results and was the cheapest one, so I booked it. There is no reception at the hotel, so there was no one present when I checked in. The following day I was out the whole day, working on my boat. When I came back in the afternoon, I found a note from the cleaning lady to please contact the reception, which I did immediately. As mentioned before, there is no reception desk, just a contact Hotline. I called at 17:15 but they stop operating at 4 pm, so I called them first thing the following morning and was told, that pets are not allowed at the property (I tried to explain that it came up on my search even though I had set a filter). I was asked to leave immediately and still had to pay for the following night, even though I was out by 10 o'clock, because, according to the lady, they would still lose out another day. The hotel has charged me the full amount for 8 days, refusing to refund me anything! I have contacted ********** and raised a claim with them; they have contacted the hotel and asked for a refund and the (One Star) hotel's respond was that a) they had to do an extensive cleaning which costs 990,- DKK and, due to this cleaning attempt were not be able to rent out the room for a couple of days (?!) and therefore had a financial loss, which coincidencely added up to the 3.285,- DKK that the hotel still owes me? If this hotel is so concerned about their guests having allergic reactions to pets they should first of all get rid of the nasty, stained carpets which look as run down as the rest of the "furniture" in the rooms. I booked myself into Benniksgard afterwards, a 4**** hotel with an excellent service and breakfast and was charged an additional 250,- DKK for my dog for the whole duration of the stay.

Achtung! Warning! Critically poor fire safety. Do not book your next stay at this hotel. There are no personel present at the hotel. This is probably some kind of great business model for the owners, but it does not benefit you as a guest. Late at night I found the smoke detector missing. Early next morning I found the detector in a drawer and it was missing batteries. When talking with the cleaning staff, they blamed the hotel administration, wich I think is fair. When I confronted the management, who are only available by phone, they blamed the cleaning staff. I think this is unfair and told them so. Then I was blaimed myself, by the satellite managment, for not calling in the middle of the night. I told them that the fire safety at their hotel is not my responsibilty. The satellite representant on the phone politically correctly agreed with this, but still maintained that it was my responsibility to act. My responsibility as a hotel guest is firstly to pay as agreed and secondly not to behave like Keith Moon, the infamous drummer of The Who. This review is not written out of affection. It is carefully thought out. Drive past this place. You're not going to hurt anyone, because there is no one there. Who knows, if you choose another hotel, you are likely to have a smile too.

Het versleten meubilair en dringende nood aan opfrissing daar heb ik nog begrip voor. Dat de badkamer, de handdoeken, het terras en het meubilair gewoon vies en vuil was daar heb ik geen begrip voor, zeker niet gezien de prijs die we betaald hebben voor deze kamer. Vermits deze accommodatie via *********** gereserveerd was hadden we bij onze beoordeling daar dit aangetoond met niet mis te verstane foto’s van de vieze kranen, afvoer, rare witte vlekken op een stoel enz maar die foto’s werden, vermoedelijk op verzoek van de accommodatie weggehaald. Bij dut hotel ontbreekt volledig elke vorm van waardering voor de klant.

Tijdens mijn eerste reis naar Scandinavië kwamen we in de avond met de auto aan in Padborg, direct over de grens van Denemarken. Om een goed rus**omentje te pakken zochten we een gemakkelijk te bereiken hotel, liefst in Aabenraa. Hotel Østersø was op dat moment nog het enig beschikbare hotel dat in dat plaatsje, dus besloten we het erop te wagen. Het was direct geregeld! Na het boeken ontving ik een sms-bericht met de kamernummer en een toegangscode, die bij aankomst netjes werkte. Fijn! De kamer zelf zag er op zich aardig uit. Voor de prijs van circa €100 voor twee personen mag je niet veel verwachten vind ik. In dat opzicht voldeed het ook wel trouwens. Het uitzicht over de Åbenrå Fjord was echt prachtig en meteen een mooi begin van de trip! De bedden sliepen verder prima. Mijn enige puntje van feedback zou zijn dat de badkamer ietsjes schoner kan. Echter, het feit dat we zo last-minute een kamer konden krijgen voor deze prijs met een mooi uitzicht maakte al veel goed.

Das Østersø liegt direkt am Strand von Aabenraa und mach von außen und auch in der Lobby einen guten Eindruck. Wenn man dann das Zimmer betritt, ist man enttäuscht. Hier wurde lieblos eingerichtet und wohl seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr renoviert. Siehe Fotos. Fazit: Für eine Nacht okay.
