Feels like coming home, this is our third time stay at this amazing family hotel for the past one year. Fabolous place, very tasty food cooked by the wife and excellent welcome by the man, the two owner of the hotel. We can warmly recommend this family like hotel.

Excellent service. Fabulous food. Charmin, and spotlessly clean. The rooms are stark but clean and roomy enough, they have little homey touches without being kitschy, bathrooms small but adequate, the owners take care of small details, and the common areas are pleasant. Locals come here after work for a drink at the bar so the prices are reasonable. The food is excellent with fresh, quality ingredients superbly prepared, the dinner was fabulous and so was the breakfast, in fact we felt bad we couldn't finish it all. But what makes this place special is the owners, a most pleasant couple who take pride in what they do and aim to make their guests as welcome and comfortable as possible. You feel as if you are a cherished guest at a relative's home, but better. The town is very small and quaint but has little of interes, however it is only a few minutes from other towns, wineries, etc. So there is a lot to do in the area. We look forward to coming back.

Hotel located in a pretty, rustic, quiet historic village surrounded by wineries. Lots of nice walks from village up into the hills. Quiet, comfortable rooms; very clean. Excellent restaurant. Wife of proprietor is an excellent cook. Food and wine very tasty and good value. Good wine list majoring on wines from village. Friendly staff. Easy parking at rear; garden patio. Highly recommended.

Small family run hotel , in a small village in Spain. Stayed here on day 2 of our wine trek. Owner is incredibly hospitable and stayed late to get us checked in. Room was good size and comfortable, with a nice size bathroom. Simple, but filling, breakfast in the morning. Definitely a place to see if you are touring the region.

Superb location with numerous Bodegas close by. Lovely clean hotel with stunning views across the Rioja valley. A great Tapas menu offering plenty of choice and value for money. Perfect outdoor space to sit and relax while our twin 5 yr olds cart wheeled up and down the garden. secure parking. We will visit again.

Hotel Abalos is one of our favourite hotels in the world. we have stayed twice. first time with my wife celebrating my 70th Birthday and again on our route back for a ferry from Bilbao. Each time the reception from the owners has been very warm and friendly, the food is home cooked and very Spanish (breakfast is FABULOUS) The decor and ambience in the hotel is so interesting and relaxing the bedrooms are quiet and very comfortable. Abalos is a tiny village but so very beautiful, the wines produced are not expensive and very palatable. Check out the amazing church.

This hotel was highly recommended to us by friends and we were not disappointed! On our brief road trip around Northern Spain we wanted to explore part of the Rioja region and experience a small Spanish village and Villa Abalos was perfect! The building has been lovingly and sensitively restored into a 12 bedroom hotel full of character and provides comfortable accommodation. We stayed for two nights and dined in the restaurant on both and the food is really great! Breakfast is also really good. We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Abalos and recommend highly!

What a Gem! Fantastic family run hotel in Àbalos. Hotel Villa de Àbalos is a 12 bedroom hotel, in a charming little village away from all the hustle and bustle of larger towns. A gated driveway, so parking is on site. On arrival we were greeted by a charming lady who took time to explain everything. Our bedroom and ensuite was spotlessly clean, with fresh towels and good quality bed linen. The gastro bar serves beautifully presented food, we sat in the garden terrace which was very pleasant. Including in our stay was an evening meal, five courses of delicious local food with a nice bottle of Rioja. Breakfast... This was simply the best continental breakfast I've ever had! No hesitation in recommending Villa Hotel de Àbalos. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location was perfect. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

We chose this hotel as a stop over to Bilbao and we were not disappointed. It is based in a small village with secure parking. The room had a king size bed and was exceptionally clean with good amenities. We were looked after very well by Jose Luis and all his staff. They were friendly and delightful. Tapas and local wines were offered at 19:30 and dinner was available from 20:30. The tapas was fun and very enjoyable but the dinner was spectacular. The chef excelled in providing 3 starters, a main course and desert. It was simply delicious and was the best meal we had in our 6 weeks of travelling in Spain. Breakfast on the terrace was plentiful and of high quality. We would highly recommend this hotel.
