Rasoi restaurant is a pearl!very nice Indian food as well as good choice of drinks! Aleks and Rose make you feel home, they know how to spoil customers! Highly recommended also if you want to go outside your comfort zone when it comes to food- they will give you the best advice

Stayed in the hotel for one night in the family room. The room was very spacious and clean.It faced the main road so plenty to see and near the town centre. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the man that attends to your luggage. The restaurant attached also had friendly staff and the live music was good. Decor in the main hotel was very nice. Bathroom in the family room was dated but all worked so that’s all that mattered.

Arrived Friday late afternoon and booked here to visit friends. Really not happy about this hotel. The entrance hall and stairs to the room were dirty and smelled of cooking, which gave us the first indication that something was amiss. Once in the room initially it looked ok but on entering the bathroom the grout on the tiles round the bath and shower were dirty and a corner had black mould. We cleaned the bathroom. The surround of the sink was wood and the edge had swollen with water and had burst leaving a ragged area which at the least could trap dirt and the worse could cause an injury. The room was very cold and we turned the radiators up but they did not come on. We went to visit our friends and came back late evening still to a cold room. Next morning the heating was still not on. Breakfast was very limited with a small choice of cereal and a cooked breakfast ( no continental option or fruit) We spent the day and evening away from the hotel but on our return found the room hadn’t been serviced, the towels were still wet from the morning as the bathroom radiator wasn’t on the bed was not made. The towels were still damp the next day. We had to pay in full when we arrived, if that hadn’t been the case we would have left immediately. No one at reception in the morning to talk to just a phone number. We recommend people using an alternative hotel to avoid disappoin**ent.

Attended a family wedding here ,and stayed overnight. The hotel didn’t seem ready for the guests. We were told to arrive at noon for a 1pm wedding. On arrival there was no tea/coffee. We were told that it would be ready in about 20 minutes . Room were not available to check in to until 3pm, despite the hotel knowing about the wedding party (40 guests) in advance. The wedding meal was very good and we had excellent service However the bedrooms were not very clean. There were a lot of cobwebs, some even had flies in them. The bathroom was modern and fairly clean apart from the shower. The shower head was disgusting, there was so much limescale on the head, and some of it had gone a green colour. It clearly hadn’t been descaled for a long time. Consequently we couldn’t shower. Breakfast was self service but the selection poor. Only two choice of cereal and watered down orange juice. The cooked food did not look nice so I ordered scrambled egg, when it arrived it was a strange colour, quite watery and tasted awful.

We stayed for just one night, booked at the very last minute. The staff were obliging and helpful and breakfast was great, just what we wanted for an overnight. We had a lovely room, everything worked as it should and it was quiet and peaceful. It must be tough for hotels and B&Bs right now and we're happy to say we'd book the Steventon House again if we needed somewhere to stay close to Wantage.

Arrived today on the 24th September 2022 was greeted by Jolene & Clive ,their customer service was outstanding, The room was lovely , only small gripe no mirror on the dressing table ! But sat on the floor and done My hair and make up , also a side lamp that didn’t work ! But other than. That everything was great , we dined in the Indian restaurant , Again the service by Jolene and Clive you could not fault ! They are both brilliant at their job , the chef in the Indian was 10 out of 10 the Best Indian We have had in a while , would we stay here again 100%. Thank you Steventon House hotel .

My Husband and I along with my Mother booked a 2 night stay in June as our Niece was getting married at The Milton Hill Manor hotel which was near by, we couldn't get any rooms there as they had given them over to the other wedding parties they had there and Thank goodness they did otherwise we wouldn't have found this gem of a hotel. The Check in with Josh was a good service, we stayed in the annex however my elderly mother was going into a room in the the main building but Josh made sure we had 2 rooms in the annex which was perfect, the rooms were on the ground floor spotlessly cleaned, comfy beds, good supply of toiletree's and a well stocked tea/coffee station along with biscuits. We ate in the restaurant that evening where we had Indian Cuisine the food was tasty, fab service from Josh and Clive and Josh even made me a Pina Colada which wasn't on the menu it was one of the best I've had. The Breakfast was lovely each morning, we had a full English but there was a good choice, Clive served us the first morning and the next along with Frayer on the Sunday the service is great they don't have lots of staff but you wouldn't notice as the staff are a credit to the hotel. We will return one day when next in the area, the hotel is set back in nice grounds, hard working staff who made our stay a good one and we would recommend.

Firstly the good stuff. The room was very clean and well laid out, the pillows were some of the best I have ever slept on, and despite a disco going on the room was peaceful. However, the manger, or assumed he was the manager was unhelpful and rude. The evening was a family affair of about 60 people with a hot buffet in the evening, the food was served on time was was not kept warm. So even though we were the first one's to help ourselves the food was cold. This was also true of the breakfast in the morning, this spoilt the whole event for myself and my wife. My advice would to give this establishment a wide berth, go to a chain hotel and get a burger, you will save money and the food will be hot

I hosted a big 40th Birthday celebration with 150 guests attending. We all had the best time. The food and service was superb - all my guests commented. The decor and venue itself was instagrammable ! (A big plus point for me and my friends !!) But what deserves the biggest mention was how supportive and attentive the management were in helping me organise such a big party. They were certainly way more experienced and knowledgeable than many other local venues. I visited many local venues before booking, and found most of their events depar**ents being led by very young members of staff, and didn't get the same level of reassurance. When you are spending thousands, you need that sense of security. Other plus points include, lots of free parking and excellent, large spacious rooms to get ready in. This last point was key for me with needing to get my hair and make up done. I have no qualms in recommending, thank you Steventon House for the most amazing time.
