Villa Diana

I booked two rooms for myself and my mother, which I prepaid for. When I arrived, the owner said he only had one room available and that I would have to share a room with my mother. No refund, however, after going back and forth with Trip.com, so I paid double for a single room. Do not stay here. He's a scammer.

I don't think a review can do the experience full justice. The villa is retro style with high end bathroom furnishings, all in good working order and dating from the mid 1900's and before. As are all the luxurious furnishings. Dario is courtesy and helpfulness personified and his sister would win awards with the excellence of her baking and home cooking as presented at breakfast. This was outstanding as part of our self drive two week sicilian adventure. Very well priced. The valley of the temples and the Villa Romana de Casale were not too bad examples of world heritage at its best either. Just simply fan-tastic!

This is easily one of the loveliest hotels we’ve stayed in and when you factor in the price, it is even better. Calling this a 3 star B&B is just misleading - 5 star boutique hotel in historic country house is more accurate. We loved everything. Dario, is a kind and gracious host who does everything he can for you. Breakfast is delicious - most of it (bread, jam, cakes…) are home made by his sister who jointly runs the place. Beds super comfy and we slept like babies because you’re in the countryside so it is quiet and dark at night. You need a car really to stay here as is it outside Agrigento (loads of free parking safely inside the gates of the house) and a taxi in one-way is €25 (because Tony has to come from Agrigento to get you - he is also lovely and gave us great tips about the Valle Dei Templi ). However given the price of the room it really is affordable. We ate out 3 nights (Dario booked the restaurant and taxi for us) and it was great - Kokalos was brilliant with views of the Temples at night and King, which had great food and amazing wine but was too brightly lit which impaired the atmosphere. Balcony lovely overlooking the countryside - Dario just came by with home made cannoli and limoncello! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else for Agrigento and would definitely come back to this hotel anytime just to chill! Bellissima!

A terrific experience. Dario our host was so cordial and helpful he alone would have made for a great visit. The rooms are enormous, high ceilings and large windows add to the scale. The third floor bedroom has a small balcony with extensive views of the countryside, all are perfectly furnished. The breakfast room is bright and pleasant and the food matches its quality. Coming from a week in small urban quarters this place was a delight, a country setting, complete with animals - great.

This is a gorgeous bed na d breakfast with a wonderful host. The room was huge with a king size bed and extra single bed. The adjoining bathroom was also big, beautiful and well equipped. Breakfast was five star, with excellent food and stunning dishes and set up.

If you want to feel as if you are a guest in the Sicilian countryside, this is the place for you. Run by a brother and sister , this large family home, built in the 1970s and decorated as if in the 1870s is outside of town on a working olive grove and farm. The rooms are large with antique style furniture, big windows and generous wrap around terraces. Views of the valley and neighboring farms are superb. The bathrooms are very high end 1970s. You are provided with all the conveniences of a high end hotel such as bathrobes and slippers, local toiletries, hairdryer, minibar and free bottle of wine. Dario is an incredibly helpful host , providing maps and directions and even beach towels. Breakfast is another highlight, with baked goods and jams made by Dario’s sister, eggs from their chickens and local fruits and juices. Do not let the slightly odd appearance from the outside put you off. This place is a real gem!

What a hidden jewel that you don’t want to miss! Dario and his sister show great hospitality, are very willing to share their family history and home and serve a beautiful breakfast. Accommodations are spacious. Dario’s restaurant suggestion, King, was excellent!

My husband and I stayed here two nights during our honeymoon and were blown away by the hospitality Dario and Diana provided. Breakfast was fantastic! Everything was homemade, even the jams. You really get the feeling of staying in a beautiful family home, full of thoughtfully collected antique and contemporary art, books, and furniture. Our stay was pleasantly quiet and relaxed, the room was large and clean, bed was comfortable, and we had a large balcony with table and chairs overlooking the hillside. It's an easy drive to the temple ruins and restaurants. Dario was so friendly and attentive, offering us local restaurant recommendations, making us cappuccinos in the late afternoon, and happily sharing anecdotes about the house's art, architecture, and goats when asked.
