An unassuming, yet eclectic hostel just out of Oude Pijp - a quieter part of the city which has a huge range of cafes (the coffee and food kind), some quieter coffeeshops and walking distance to most major attractions. We stayed as a couple in a private room and were drawn to the boutique decor and the location out of the hustle and bustle of Central Amsterdam. In hindsight, and for that price, we would have stayed at a private room in a hotel as it may have proved more space and quiet. Outside noise from the street and from the hostel garden echoed to our room at all ours during our 3 night stay. This is good for those solo and social travellers making connections, but less so for us. The ear plugs and meditation app were appreciated, but did little to quell the noise unfortunately. The beds - very comfortable - and late check out provided some relief from this. We are fairly used to small rooms and bathrooms in Europe, but this one was particularly squashy. The toilet sits almost directly under the sink, and there we had to put our travelling bags on our bed to go through them as there simply wasn’t enough space on the floor. It was cute without being practical. Overall - we were satisfied enough. We would definitely choose another place for our next visit to Amsterdam.

I only stayed a couple of nights, but Cocomama was such a special place and I immediately felt at home. From the moment I stepped in I was welcomed by helpful staff and friendly guests. The room were very clean & organized, and the bathrooms were very sanitary. The kitchen/lounge was a great place to hang out and I got to meet some really great people. This was amongst the best hostels I have stayed at and I will definitely be back!

Hippy kinda place, small group who are are very welcoming and do everything right. Rooms and bedding are clean. Cool amenities located just on the outskirts of the bust town. Everything you need is here. $10 fee for arriving after 10pm. Rules are rules I guess but I resented it after a long, plane delayed day. Id still return, it's a nice place.

Clean, privacy curtains and night lamps for beds, calm atmosphere and a cozy kitchen and common space downstairs. The room, kitchen and bathrooms were cleaner than in most hostels. The only downside was that we could hear noises from the entrance and kitchen at night.

I had such a great stay at cocomama! The only bad thing is that I wish I booked for longer! As soon as I walked in I felt like I was home, everyone was so welcoming and so fun to be around. I definitely felt safe travelling as a solo female. Kitchen was brilliant, common area was fantastic and there’s even a trampoline in the garden! I met some awesome people here and it’s definitely a hostel experience that I will never forget. I can’t wait to be back in Amsterdam so I can stay here again! This is a lovely, friendly hostel with a well-equipped kitchen, comfy rooms and lots of amenities/attractions within walking distance. The check-in and check-out process are easy and the price is very reasonable. My partner and I would definitely stay here again in future.

I stayed at Cocomama with my friend for 6 nights, and we had a great stay! It was my first time staying in a hostel, but I felt very comfortable from the start. All areas were kept clean, and the common area was so cozy to hangout. They offered movie nights, wine nights, and more events throughout the week. The kitchen was great for preparing food. The staff was very welcoming and kind. I met amazing people during my stay. I would recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a homey and calm stay :)

Great place for solo travelers! They often organize activities at night and it’s very easy to meet new people in the common area. There’s a fridge and a kitchen there, both super useful. I was in a shared room with 6 people and had no problems with anything there - the bathroom was usually free when I wanted to use it. The location is ideal, very close to Rijksmuseum. There’s also a trampoline outside, which is so cool!!

Super nice hostel, really good vibes, very kind staff. We stayed in a private double room. Clean and nice but a little too small. The only bad thing that we can say is that there’s no wardrobe so you have to keep all your clothes in the suitcase. We would also suggest to put 2 small light next the bed. The ambiance in the common space is really “home-feeling” and Mieske the cat contribute to it in a super cute way. We had also movie night with popocorn, a ducht happy hour, wine and cheese night and many othet activites offered by Cocomama. Nice way to stay together and connect with other hosts! There’s also a nice garden. It just should be cared a little more. The location in town is excellent, with many pubs, restaurants and supermarkets around and max 20 minutes walking from the most important places (museums, parks, central station,..) In the end, we absloutely recommend Cocomama!

Great place to stay! That staff is super kind and it is well located so you can walk everywhere and avoid using the public transport which is quite pricey. The hostel has all the utensils you made need to cook your meals.

The property is very close to a tram stop so getting to and from the property is very easy. We were allowed to leave our bags at the property having arrived a few hours before check-in. The place had people chilling in the kitchen which gave it a nice sociable feel. Members of staff we met with were very friendly and helpful. The kitchen space was nice, comfortable, clean etc and felt homely. Our room was great, very nice to spend time in and no issues with noise etc from the other rooms. Really enjoyed our stay and couldn’t fault it, 5 stars!

We had an awesome family room. With a single bed in the room & a loft/ platform double for the couple. First night I found difficult sleeping despite a very long journey to get there, due to the way the traditional Dutch house is constructed, leaning slightly out to the street. I felt like I was falling into the corner of the bed. Speaking of beds..... I had lovely fresh good quality linen on my bed & a wonderfully fluffy feather down quilt. So cosy. Night 2 I slept really well as my brain had accepted I wasn't going to fall into the street! Ensuite shower room with towels, soap, shampoo, bodywash & toothbrushes all provided. As well as a coffee maker & coffee. We were in a room with Delft plates on the wall. We got a great welcome from the staff, extra towels when one got rather wet from the shower. Went into the kitchen when Son decided to cook & met this wonderful little feline called Mieske, (Mischa in uk). She was very friendly, popped in and out to the garden to play & slept in a wee nook with her tail sticking out. We were instant friends. Everywhere was clean tidy & staff were kind, welcoming & polite. Very sociable & helpful. They even looked after our cases for the day after we had checked out as our flight was late night, to give us an extra day sightseeing. I can't fault Cocomama at all. My Son has stayed with them here at Cocomama over a dozen times. this was my first. However, I will definitely be back. The welcome is warm, the place is clean, the beds are comfy, the quilts are cosy, the showers are hot & fast, the kitchen is awesome, the garden is blooming, the staff are excellent & to top it all of, there's this very friendly feline who loves a yoghurt treat & a lap to sit on. What more could you want. I LOVE COCOMAMA!

During my three-night stay at Cocomama Boutique Hostel, I felt like I found a true home away from home. The dorm room was cozy and nicely designed, making it the perfect place for a good night’s sleep. Every night, I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, thanks to the hostel’s commitment to providing a comfortable stay. The quiet surroundings and excellent amenities ensured that each night I had a restful sleep, making my time at Cocomama Boutique Hostel a relaxing highlight of my Amsterdam adventure.

I enjoyed every minute of being in this hostel! Very easy to make friends and workers are very kind and helpful. I loved it! The area is also one of a kind. From there you can get to the most popular spots in the city and if you want to ride a bike, it is literally down the street. Very convenient.
