Situé dans le centre de Forfar, letablissement est pratique pour une nuit de passage sur un road trip le long (et proche) de la côte. Rien à redire en ce qui concerne les chambres qui offre le standard habituel outre-manche. La chambre edt même spacieuse. L'établissement permet aussi l'accès à un espace détente doté d'une piscine pour se detendre en fin de journée. Un bémol neanmoins en ce qui concerne le petit-déjeuner... En effet, la plupart des composants du "full scottish" semblent avoir été passé à la friteuse et sont gorgés d'huile (même les champignons)

Very comfy bed and decent soft furnishings. Quiet despite the nightclub being downstairs. Was a little disappointed by the maintenance of the room - leaking shower head, broken toilet seat, tv and shelf. Also up a lot of stairs with poor lighting. Very basic room and not really worth what I paid for it.

looking for somewhere to use as a base in 2024 for hillwalking we decided to try the Royal Hotel. Staying overnight in what was a horrible night we had a good stay in a warm and welcoming environment. We had dinner in the bistro and the food and service was fantastic, breakfast was great in the morning too. Our room was, we believe, the only family room which was basically two rooms with an adjoining door, one bathroom and space to sleep four. We had a decent sleep in comfortable and clean bedding. We made use of the pool which was heated. All in all a good hotel and we will be back

A lovely hotel in the centre of Forfar, and a great location for visiting all the attractions in the area. Free car parking (bonus in a busy town) Use of the spa and leisure centre. Nice breakfast and restaurant also offers lunches and evening meals. Staff are very good, a special mention goes to Ellice Brannan who served us and helped us throughout our stay (4 nights), always with a smile.

Although fairly unobtrusive from the front of the building once inside it’s quite an Aladdins cave of well placed and thought out decor. Our long time friend from Forfar suggested this establishment for my son and I to call upon whilst visiting him from our home in Tayside. Already looking forward to the return. Super Braw Aye

Definitely not the superior/deluxe double room that was booked and paid for! The room was a basic double, and nothing like any of the images on the website. It was disappointing, as we cancelled other accommodation to stay there instead, and it cost us more money to do so. I won't be making that mistake again!

Friends meeting for a catchup,but was very disappointing,coffee delicious,but cakes were hard stale,and we seemed to be a bit of a nuisance in arriving,told no food just drinks,we shan't be back which is a pitty because the beer garden area is great catches the sun,they could do a lot more to promote this

Very clean. Breakfast was great. A selection of cereals, yoghurt and juice. Tea and coffee brought to the table along with toast and a fabulous cooked breakfast. Porridge is also available to order. Staff couldn't be nicer. Nothing too much trouble. Room was pleasant. Bathroom basic with no shampoo or shower gel. There are tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. You have to ask at reception for a hairdryer. We were there for 2 nights and we thought the room would be serviced after the first night but it wasn't so if we'd had a cuppa on the first night that would have been it. Also we had a shower before heading out for the day and returned to the wet towels as they weren't changed. We were attending an event in Dundee and this hotel was way cheaper than anything else and although a half hour bus ride from Dundee it was still worth the saving.

Had an overnight stay for a business trip. Warm welcome (on a freezing night), nice clean room, excellent breakfast the following morning. Quiet and characterful with its own car park at the back. Nothing much wrong here.
