The Spindrift Guest House

If you want to stay in a superior guest house then this is a very good choice. The bed was super-comfortable, and everything about the room was high quality. But what really stood out for us was the breakfast - home-baked extra offerings made the stay feel special and, for us, very memorable.

Just back from a wonderful stay at The Spindrift. The hosts Mark & Jenni could not have been more accommodating. It was great to reminisce on our times in South Africa in the seventies with the hosts. The room was beautifully furnished and we had a really comfy bed. From the warmest of welcomes by hosts Jeni and Mark, to the delicious breakfast, unbelievably comfortable 'cloud bed' and amazing attention to detail throughout the house, the Spindrift is absolutely enchanting. Beautiful location and Jeni even booked us in for a round of golf at the local course. Highly recommend this lovely place and will definitely be back! Thank you Jeni and Mark!

Myself and my husband stayed at this gorgeous bed and breakfast on the 7th feb for 3 nights. What a lovely welcome we received from the owners Mark & Jenni. This must be one of the nicest b&b's we have been to. This is a fantastic house with so much character to it. Our breakfast was delicious especially the poached eggs, cooked to perfection. I also got a treat each morn from the homebaking they prepared. This place is imaculate kept to a very high standard, can't thank the housekeeping staff for keeping our room and bathroom so clean and tidy. The kingsize room was well laid out and what a comfortable bed to relax in. We will definately be back at somepoint this year. Thanks again Mark & Jenni for everything.

Genuinely lovely people, who are very attentive to all the guests. Charming hosts, great breakfast choice, with treats added tartlets and banana loaf! Such a beautiful house, the bedroom was very comfortable with a view of the sea and the countryside. A warm welcome by Mark and Jennifer who work extremely hard to ensure that you are having the best experience, I highly recommend this guest house in Anstruther you will not want to go home!

Well appointed rooms, outstanding breakfast and brilliant hosts. Stayed here on a four night stay whilst on business. Owners and staff could not do more to have made my stay any more comfortable. I would highly recommend for families, couples or singles.

Friendly welcome by Mark & Jenni. Bit of a mix up with room type to start with - had requested a twin but was shown to a double. But Jenni quickly resolved this and gave us a twin room. Good view out to sea. Decent sized room with very comfortable beds. Despite being on the main road, it was quiet at night. Nice to have 2 chairs to sit in. Well equipped ensuite with shower in bath. Bath was quite high sided which could make it difficult for some people to get into. Towels changed on request. Heated towel rail so you could dry your towels. Tea/coffee provided but only biscuits on first night? Excellent breakfast provided with good range of items to choose from Nice to have a little 'treat' afterwards - all home baking. Lady who served at breakfast was very friendly. There is on-site parking. As others have said a bit tight. There is a downstairs lounge with an honesty bar which we did not make use off. About a 10-15 minute walk into the main village where all the restaurants are. Only about 5-10 minute walk to the golf club with its restaurant. All restaurants we ate at were very good - The Waterfront, The Bank and Rockies (golf club). Overall a nice short break in a comfortable B&B with good restaurants within walking distance and within easy reach of the Fife attractions.

It's a nice guesthouse on the edge of anstruther, a quick walk into the town and harbour. Hosts are very friendly. The guesthouse itself is lovely, with nice rooms and decor. Check in/check out times aren't great. Check in isn't till 4pm which is considered late and also had an early Check out at 10. You would expect the check out to be at 11 considering the late check in! Breakfast is served between 8 and 9 and you don't really get a choice of time. The breakfast is tasty though and we received some home bakes after, as did all guests which was a nice touch. Parking is tight so if you've a big car, consider parking elsewhere. There is an honesty bar in the lounge, you pay in cash for this but its very expensive. £5.75 for a single measure plus the price of your mixer. We probably wouldn't stay again.

Nice house but room a bit expensive for an attic room when you have to carry a heavy suitcase up there, and where you get a nice view if you are tall enough but not over 6ft or you might bump your head on the ceiling trying to go to bed. Nice "honesty" bar even if a bit overpriced. we were surprised and shocked to find safari photobooks with dead animals maybe killed by our South African hosts. Nice Breakfast but they asked my wife to move her seat forward twice as other guests might bump into her seat to get stuff behind her. They could easily have moved us to an other table or rearrange the tables , we felt it was quite rude. We were also told not to get scones out of the dining room , even if we had paid for our breakfast, as it would be against the law ! So all in all, even if our hosts were reasonably friendly, not such a great stay or as great as they would like their customers to think as they told everyone who arrived in the dining room "the beds were great weren't they"?
