Wiedereinmal wollte ich in Handara Golfe, bin sehr spät nachts angekommen. Die Rezeption - der Nachtdienst - war vorbereitet, hat mir den Schlüssel übergeben und mich umgehend zur Unterkunft fahren lassen. Das Frühstück entspricht nicht internationalem westlichen Standard, war aber gut. Service und Aufmerksamkeit der Mitarbeiter war ausgezeichnet.

The rooms have no air conditioning. It gets very hot and you cannot open doors and windows as flies would come in. We had a window in the back of room 130 and there is a yellow garden light outside which flooded our room with yellow light at night and we could not sleep the whole night. Simple solution is to put a curtain there or move or switch off that garden light. What a waste of money and sleep in a beautiful resort. However the surroundings are stunning.

We arrived at 18:15, when check in is at 14:00, to be told our room ain’t ready as they have an issue with the door. After waiting till 19:00 we were told that the door can’t be fixed and we will be given an upgrade to a better room. When we arrived in the room it was the same, just with the golf view, next to construction, so we wouldn’t have peace during the day time. Where is the upgrade?! The restaurant was ridiculously expensive with tiny portions and average food. Our second evening we saw a rat around the restaurant and kitchen entrance. They were no taxi’s around or any way to get out and about so you basically stuck in the hotel. The cocktails were extremely expensive( 19€ for a Long Island?!?!? On what earth?) on day 3 on breakfast the staff were removing with a spoon a dead fly from the yogurt, instead of replacing it. In general the breakfast buffet was full of flies and pests all over the food. Table cloths were all stained. We ended up leaving a day earlier and nobody was bothered to ask why or get a feedback although we said the hotel is filthy.

I was undecided whether to stay at Handara after reading some of the reviews, but really pleased I did. We stayed in a garden view chalet which I feel was excellent value for money. There were no issues with the room which was spacious and comfortable. All the staff we encountered were friendly and provided a great service. We ate in the terrace restaurant both days and the choice of food and quality was very good. I agree that there is not much else to do at the resort other than golf, however the surroundings are very peaceful with great views. There are bicycles for hire and we had a walk around the grounds. The golf course has stunning scenery. The fairways were more leafy than grass and some of the greens were not up to standard, but I’m still pleased I experience a round of golf here. I feel the hotel has taken on previous guest feedback and has acted on any necessary improvements.

Superato il grande e molto fotografato Handara gate si raggiunge la struttura che abbiamo sfruttato solo per un pranzo di passaggio. La costruzione non è bellissima e anche piuttosto rovinata esternamente. Indubbiamente belli i campi da golf e tutta la natura circostante. La sala del ristorante è molto curata e anche i bagni. Ci sono stati serviti dei piatti occidentali, tra cui zuppa di zucca e carne con patate. Il servizio è di buon livello e i piatti presentati benissimo, peccato averci trovato un capello che ha fatto nascere qualche dubbio sulla reale qualità espressa in cucina.

Would hardly call this a “resort”. Only thing there is to do here is golf, there’s no pool, no spa, no other activities. The website is EXTREMELY misleading - when I got here and inquired about the “activities” listed on the website, they acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about, or told me the activity wasn’t available. There is no spa btw, if you want a massage they’ll have an outside masseuse come to your small hotel room which is a joke. No A/C in rooms either. Location is beautiful and the grounds are nice, just be prepared to do nothing but eat and golf.

Der Golfplatz ist in die Jahre gekommen, aber das P. Thompson Design des Kurses ist einmalig. Und wir lieben alte Kurse, besonders mit sehr guten Caddies wie hier. Im Restaurant das Sukiyaki ist hervorragend! Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Und wesentlich preiswerter als in Canggu oder Sanur,.. Die Unterkunft mit Sicht auf das 18. Grün auch gut und sauber, aber eben auch nicht auf neuestem Stand. Insgesamt ein großartiges Erlebnis! Wirklich wert, vormittags hoch in die Berge fahren, nach ein Uhr abzuschlagen, Dinner zu haben, übernachten, morgens eine weitere Runde spielen und am Nachmittag zurück. Wichtig: dort in den Bergen ist es deutlich kühler! Nachts 15-18 und tagsüber um die 25 Grad.

Visited this golf resort for valentines day. Arrived just before 2, fast check-in by friendly and welcoming staff and taken by electric cart to our garden view room 127. Room was not brand new, but had all the items/facilities we needed and was reasonably spacious. Very quiet, no external noise. Day was pretty perfect for some lunch outside with very good food that was reasonably priced, with great service. Did some golf driving with my wife late afternoon which was great, and only a few other people there. Evening dinner was wonderful, followed by a stroll around. Next morning, it rained but the great breakfast made up for any disappointment before further walks later. All in all a great visit and we will be back.
