Slieve Russell Hotel

Beautiful rooms, delicious food.. breakfast and dinner in Conall Cearnach and Summit bar in golf club. Friendly staff.. wonderful Chris**as break.

What a super hotel. We were here same time last year and it just does not disappoint. From the professionalism and friendliness of the staff to the overall ambience 10 out of 10. The food is superb and the regal surroundings of the restaurant are just perfect. The bedroom was a superior double and it was that - superior. We played golf on the PGA course. It's a challenge but a really beautiful course with 3 exceptional par t 3's. Also, they have a walking trail which doubles as a great running track. We'll be back. I note the Slieve is currently on the market for 35 million while Mount Juliet is listed at 45 million. I know which one is be purchasing. It's just a great hotel that has everything. Book it now

We stayed two nights in the Slieve Russell. It was our first time at the hotel, upon arrival the aesthetics were beautiful, however the poor service and hospitality was a major let down. We booked our dinner in the Summit restaurant both evenings. Whilst the waitress was very pleasant the first evening (Thursday) it was very under staffed, with a long wait if you wanted to have dessert so we refrained. On the second night I and my family have never experienced service like it, it was so poor. I know not every request can be accommodated however I do not expect to be met with a bad attitude for even making a request. We were seated under the air conditioning, we had a two year old and my father who had a heart condition and due to medication feels cold all the time, my husband asked very politely, would it be possible if we moved to another table of four. The waitress said abruptly - no we are fully booked. At this point there were two tables of four free by the window, my husband then asked if we could do a swap, this caused great annoyance and she abruptly said we are fully booked, he then asked very nicely, would it be ok if we could have the air conditioning off, we got a yes but very abrupt, the table of four that was by the window was then occupied twenty minutes later by two people. The waitress then proceeded to ignore us, and sent a male server to get our order ( we were the only ones in the area served by the male, and we could tell by her face each time she passed us she was angry) we then saw her talk to her manager as we could see her pointing over to us- I'm astounded at her attitude as not once were we rude. After dinner my husband went to pay, and he gave her the money and she gave him the change all in small coins ( I know this happens, but it is usually met with, I'm sorry we have no notes, we got the feeling she did it on purpose as we seemed to annoy her with a simple request) We left the summit restaurant and went to the bar, the bar manager was the server and we asked could we get a dish of ice cream for our 2 year old, to another abrupt no, dinner service finished 30 minutes ago, again understandable but the unfriendly attitude after having such a bad experience in the summit restaurant was just the icing on the cake. So disappointed with the service as the facilities and the pool were fantastic. I did submit my review to the hotel and they asked for further feedback and I did give it however no further acknowledgement or thank you for getting back to them- very disappointing

I live locally to the Slieve Russell. I am a member of the Leisure Club which is fantastic. I love having this wonderful facility in my locality but let us talk about the food. Our food in the golf club on Tuesday night arrived far too quickly from the kitchen for it to have been prepared to order. I am convinced that a microwave or other means of heating up food quickly was used on this occasion. My food was cold long before I finished my meal. I understand that it was Tuesday night with a skeleton staff but a four star hotel should not entertain such behaviour. I did not complain on the night and really regret that now. I want to bring friends and recommend it to everybody I know but unfortunately I cannot.

Absolutely fantastic weekend at Slieve Russell Hotel & Country Club. Wonderful, helpful staff and amazing food all weekend. This hotel has such a lovely friendly vibe. Beautiful grounds and immaculate bedrooms. Thank you for looking after our large party so well - great work!

We’ve just spent the weekend here. The hotel and grounds are fantastic, and the food is exceptional. The staff are also brilliant. I must leave a special mention for Anna on reception, who went above and beyond helping us with a room issue and a last minute clothing emergency.

Fabulous hotel,staff so friendly and helpful,greeted at the door by a beautiful lady,check in so easy and room ready before 3.30,room was beautiful,lovely decor,had dinner in summit restaurant which was so nice and very reasonable prices,went to the bar and listened to the worst singer I have ever heard,pool is gorgeous,everywhere so clean,breakfast was delicious,we will definitely be back

the setting for the hotel is second to none. It is worth exploring the fabulous well mamicured grounds. The staff were friendly and attentive. However. the buffet cooked breakfast was very poor, I was unable to eat it. On the second day thankfully I was able to order poached eggs which came freshly made. The first dinner we had was just OK not really to much to say about it. On the second night I had to send back my starter which was unedible. The second portion wasnt really much better. If that wasnt bad enough I had to send back my pudding. Really for the prices there should have been a much higher standard.
