Tadross Hotel

Clean hotel,fantastic price ,upgraded us to a 3 bed room for no extra money ,host was very welcoming,it was more appealing when we found out the 2019 Gavin and Stacey Christmas special was filmed here as that is why we had travelled to Barry,couldn’t fault the hotel,

We loved this hotel. Great location. Rooms were clean and comfortable, spacious, all you need. But what made this hotel was the people. From the lush gentleman on check in to the wonderful bar lady who knew our drinks after 1 round, the locals adopted us like their own. Anything we needed was given or advised on where to go. For the price you pay this hotel is so worth it. We were going to go out but had so much fun in the bar we stayed. Big up to miss MJ super fan Isobel. What a gorgeous little dancing girl. We will be coming back to the Tadross as we had THE best time xx

What a lovely little find. For a budget hotel it had everything we needed. Lovely warm room with the usual coffee, tea etc. Even supplied shower gel. Staff were fantastic, nothing was too much bother. No food at this hotel but loads of takeaways near by and the staff gave us plates and cutlery. The bar attached was fabulous, so friendly! Probably the room could do with some nets and maybe a chair. We will definitely be back, probably without the kids so we can enjoy a few beers.

Terrible experience. We booked for NYE on a whim as we are Gavin and Stacey fans and because of the connection. Wasn’t expecting the earth but it was so depressing. The woman who checked us in was lovely but after that it went downhill. The room, though large, was bland and dated. I was convinced that the window was open as it was so cold and draughty - the window was cracked. The radiator didn’t work and we had to go to bed fully clothed and with the quilt from the second bed on the double bed. It really is one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. It wasn’t worth £20 but I paid £63. We didn’t venture to the bar until the morning where we encountered staff. Asked to buy a coffee and the woman did make me one but it was clear they wanted us to leave. They were really unfriendly. Then later realised my daughter had left her sentimental cuddly bunny. Rang and asked and they said the cleaner hadn’t been down but would ring me back. They never did. Then rang the next day and asked again and again they hadn’t seen the cleaner and again promised to ring back and never did. Didn’t care that a child had lost their precious bunny. If I could give 0 stars I would. The only good thing was the woman who checked us in. She was great but unfortunately I don’t know her name.

Tadross hotel is great if your looking to get your head down for the night … its not far from barry island which is beautiful.. if your a fan if gavin and stacey you can visit the house on trinity street then there is lots to see on barry island . We stayed where the pub garden is and it was very spacious . Very handy having the pub next door. You can get taxi’s easily to the town centre for restaurants. The lady who got our room ready was lovely .

Stayed one night at the Tadross hotel, staff all very friendly rooms weren’t ready when we arrived (before the check in time) they kept our luggage locked away for us. When we did check there were no issues the rooms were clean, towels and shower gel provided, tea and coffee, television, en suite bathrooms. We stayed on the first floor and couldn’t hear any of the noise from the pub when we went to sleep, beds were comfy enough the rooms do get very warm when visiting in summer but would recommend if you’re in the area looking for an affordable room.

We had a lovely welcome, the room was so nice, very clean and spacious. So quiet, very reasonably priced. Lush little pub too, not expensive. Pls don’t believe past reviews, it seems these new guys are turning things around, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. The landlord and team made us very welcome and we will be returning.

We stayed here for one night for our 10 year anniversary was a lovely very friendly pub , staff was lovley even the locals as my partner popped the question and asked me to marry him !!!on the evening at Barry island as we are gavin and Stacey fans , and when we got back we popped in the pub to have a drink to celebrate and one of the locals brought us a bottle of bubbly to celebrate how kind ,was a lovely place and they couldn’t of done anymore will defo be back 👍

Worst place we’ve ever stayed. Booked 2 rooms with our friends for 2 nights but just about made it through the one night. As previous reviews have said the toilet system is very loud and you can hear everyone’s toilets going. Mattress felt hollow was just like laying on a bench. Loud music all night. Was offered ***** and asked if we had any to sell but by two different people. But wasn’t too surprised by this as we went into a local shop before hand and got talking to the member of staff who said “you’re brave staying at the Tadross. There is housing connected to the back of the pub that the council house the homeless” To top it all, during the night we had someone trying to open the room door. Watched the door handle going up and down. Needless to say we didn’t stay the second night. Toni on the reception desk did handle our complaints the next morning very well to her credit.
