I booked a Deluxe Studio standard view room through a DVC shop for about $415 for one night, including taxes. Booking through Disney would more than double the price, so I'm pleased I was able to get the reservation through a DVC shop rental. I stayed in the Pago Pago building, which is in a bit of a remote area of the resort, but still a lovely building, and I had a very nice patio on the ground floor with seating and a good view of the resort grounds. My room was rather spacious and had kitchen facilities, in case you didn't want to dine in one of the many Disney World restaurants. I quite liked the decor of the room, and it did feel like you were staying at a classic deluxe Disney resort. I even had two bathrooms, one with a lovely rain shower and the other with a tub. An unusual configuration but very nice nonetheless. The resort features some very nice pools, although the Lava Pool was very crowded and noisy at the time, so I quite enjoyed the more tranquil setting and ambiance at the aptly named Oasis pool. It was also convenient with the Oasis Bar & Grill by the pool for drinks and food, although the cocktails were very small and pricey (and served in a small plastic cup which kinda cheapens the whole enterprise). It would also have been nice with a mobile ordering option, right from your deck chair, like the Dolphin/Swan resorts have. In terms of onsite restaurants, I had lunch at Kona Café which was fairly good. I do find the Disney dining reservation procedure frustrating though: even when you have a reservation - once you arrive, you have to provide a phone number (even though they already have this info from the reservation), and then you get a text when your table is ready. Even when you have already reserved a specific time in advance. Indeed, at the time of my visit, there were dozens of tables available, and I received the text shortly after checking in at the restaurant. Ridiculous to go through that pointless exercise, when they know up front that my table will be ready immediately. I have also had breakfast at 'Ohana on a previous visit, which was amazing. I also had to get the obligatory Dole Whip at the Pineapple Lanai. The elderly gentleman who was working at the Pineapple Lanai that afternoon (19 September 2023) was quite unpleasant though, and $14 + taxes for the Dole Whip with a tiny shot of rum was ridiculously overpriced. Aside from the lack of service at the Pineapple Lanai, service from other staff was excellent, even though my interaction with them was minimal, as I used my Magic Band to access the room, and the Disney app to check in (even though the app never showed my room number - one of many technical glitches I experienced with the app during my Disney World visit). I noticed that Wi-Fi didn't work in the Lava Pool and beach area, which was a bit odd, but otherwise the hotel featured the amenities I'd expect of a deluxe resort. There were no USB or power outlets by the bed though, which was a small
