My husband and I had an excellent experience at the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, the room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was great. The location could not be beat. Would definitely return here and recommend to friends and family.

Steps away from the main Chris**as market. We could actually saw the market from our room. Although the Chris**as market itself is not as big as other cities/towns like in Nuremberg, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, etc. but the old town itself is very charming. Walking distance from the train station (less than 10 minute walk). We booked a comfort double room. The room itself is quite spacious. When we travel, we always ask for a room with no interconnecting door. This time we ended up with a connecting door to another room, however surprisingly we did not hear any noises. We're told the hotel was fully booked thus that adjacent room should have been occupied as well. Lots of closet space, mini bar, hot water kettle for coffee/tea, slippers, bathrobes, free Wi-Fi, air condition and a window that we could open. They have parking garage as well. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area.

Hotel is right on the Piazza Walther Platz and you are in the Xmas Market within a few steps. Inside the hotel is a mix of the old - antique furniture on the landing and very modern rooms. Our room was spacious excellent storage space a large comfortable double bed bathroom was excellent very good shower. Breakfast was an excellent continental with wide range of local cheeses and meats, pastries also tasty. Staff friendly.

We traveled as 3 couples, 3 brothers plus wives around NW Italy and Austria. We stayed one night in Bolzano at Hotel Greif. The only negative was the parking. Just a little tricky, but doable. Gorgeous rooms. Ours was on top floor so we had vaulted ceilings with skylights that had power shades to close at night. We looked out over the square. Great bathroom with all the necessary items. Breakfast was included and very tradition and delicious. The hotel is centrally located to all of the shopping, restaurants.

This is an excellent choice for several days in Bolzano. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is set in a pedestrian area, an easy walk from the train station. We had a large suite with three windows overlooking the town square. The room was well furnished including large cabinets as well as a coffee maker setup. The room had ample storage place. The king sized bed was comfortable. It has a large modern bathroom with shower, bidet, and tub. Unlike the experiences of a few recent reviewers, we found the hotel to be clean, modern, and well maintained. And yes, all of the lights worked. The breakfast selection was outstanding with extensive selections of breads, meats, and cheeses. The dining service was perfect. You could eat outside on a patio overlooking the pedestrian walkway or dine inside. The front office staff was extremely hospitable and helpful giving us suggestions on local dining and local events and sights. The hotel cleaning service was excellent. We would certainly stay here the next time we are in Bolzano. Tip: You may want to consult the Bolzano events calendar for evening events taking place on the square. Even with double glass windows it was noisy with a band festival one of the three evenings.

This rating should be a 5. It went back and forth between a 4 and a 5, but stays a 4. The parking was hard to find. The entrance from the garage was filthy. I thought we had arrived at the bowels of hell. No signs and no directions just umpteen stairs to drag your luggage across. They made it as unsightly and unwelcoming and physically difficult as possible to get to the main desk. Reception was cool. It was a 3. The halls were plain and sp****. They reminded me of a hall in a girl’s dorm. A 4. But then we got to this fabulous luxurious room overlooking the plaza and it was utterly breathtaking. Charm galore. Two bathrooms. Roomy. Definitely a 5. The shower door leaked, but we made due. The facilities were clean. The furniture was charming but a little warn. Down to a 4. The next morning, we had the most divine breakfast. It was incredible and the staff was above and beyond. Back to a 5. Then we checked out - well I checked out while my sister handled the bags. The reception had asked for someone to help her with the bags. He called the elevator. That’s it. She was left struggling with 6 bags up the stairs back through the bowels of hell to the parking garage. Now it’s a 4. And there it remains. What makes a hotel a five is service and hospitality. This hotel did not succeed. Which is too bad because it should have been a 5. Management needs to do some work here. Great view though. We voted it the best view and best breakfast of our 3 week trip to Northern Italy. It makes me sad when people who should succeed fall short.

Very so-so. The hotel is old and needs a make over. They clearly are not putting any $ into it and it’s very pricy for the area. Our bedside lights did not work and they could not fix them. The bed was old and uncomfortable. Just an unpleasant stay overall. It is in a nice location in Bolzano and the breakfast buffet was ok. There are definitely better hotels in the area.
