Pause Apartments

I stayed here for 2 nights The host was very friendly when checking in. She also recommended that I park on the street next to the hotel as it is free during weekend as long as it is safe. But a robber broke the window of my rental car while it was parked at night. There were a lot of drunk people shouting loudly in the bar next to the hotel, and there were also a lot of bad-looking people walking around on the street. The area is a dangerous area. everyone be careful!

Pause apartments is an ‘ancient and modern’ property. Many of the original building features have been retained. It’s akin to the Airbb business model. Fully equipped kitchen. The rooms vary in size, furbishment and building location. Be aware that the rooms facing the street suffer from traffic noise between 7am and 10pm. Also, not all rooms are air conditioned which in the summer months is necessary. Double check when booking about both these observations. The location is very good, Campanha rail station is less than a 15 minute walk. Travel from the airport is about 45 minutes on a direct metro line, walk from the metro station is less than 10 mins. Walk to central Porto is about half an hour or so. All in all a pleasant welcome and stay but pricing is high. I would say too high for what is offered and the distance to downtown Porto. As in Lisbon, it would seem the spirit and pricing of ‘boutique’ accommodation has also found its way to Porto.

This is the best place to stay in Porto. Great design with modern touch, comfortable and sparkly clean. I admired the beautiful old wooden doors, large windows and genuine old stone elements (such as the floor, and wall accents). We had a quiet room, on a high floor, facing the patio. It was perfect to rest after a long day of exploring the city. The location of the apartment is great as it is a very walkable area. I loved this place and for sure will be back.
