The Thistle Inn

We stayed in the crows nest. It was a beautiful apar**ent with lots of room. The email directions on where and how to enter were unclear an it took me 15 minutes of running around in the rain to figure it out. There were supposed to be instructions on WiFi, parking etc next to the door but there were none. We needed heat and none turned on in the living area. I was able to figure out the mini split in the bedroom. I called the number given in the email several times but there was a recording and no call back. Another guest gave me another # to call the second day He came and fixed the gas fireplace. Too much of an adventure. The Thistle Inn needs to get it's act together. The place was lovely but.....

We came in during the wee hours, and they gave us codes for the front door and the room door. Easy, and comfortable sleep - easy walk into the harbor area. I imagine our stay was much quieter during the night than places down along the waterfront.

We ate at this restaurant after my Husband's celiac acted up and the Waitress, Amy, was very helpful in helping us choose meals that would be good for us. She is a gem and very accommodating . The food was delicious and I would encourage you to stop by for a bite if you are in Boothbay Harbor!

Rooms were clean and relatively comfortable. Quick responses from property manager, very quick. Texting him worked best. The location is good. Disliked · Instructions for check-in were woefully insufficient, it took us 30 minutes before we were able to finally get into our rooms. . Parking information was also insufficient. You must share parking with the restaurant. If you leave the diners quickly take the parking spaces. Only find out later that there is additional parking in a field across the street. ALL instructions, and lack thereof, were provided by *********** Inn security was lacking, in my opinion. Access doors to the hallway (rooms) were open to the public. Doors to rooms on the 3rd level appeared to be interior grade doors. There were no deadbolts on doors - other than the 1st floor room. The 1st floor room did not have wifi - had to pirate it from the restaurant. The noise level in the 1st room floor was unacceptable. Very loud from restaurant diners. The noise did end at 1000 p.m. which was nice. So, yeah there are some considerations that may bother some folks.
