Melina and Julie were perfect hosts, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Rooms were excellent, clean comfy and to a high standard. Breakfast was tasty with lots of choice and parking easy. Location was good and about 15 minute walk to The Lanes, The Pavillion and the pier so a great location. Would highly recommend Starlings guest house.

Very nice small guest house located centrally in Brighton. Very near the sea and nice pubs and restaurants. Rooms quite bijou but it’s an old historic building! The rooms are immaculately clean and the host were fantastic. I would definitely recommend a stay here and would certainly return myself!

This is a gem of place to stay in Brighton and without hesitation would 100% recommended and stay here next time I'm in Brighton. Location - very conveniently located in Kemptown. 10 mins walk to the city centre and 1 min walk to the sea front. A quite street and I never heard any street noise at all. There is a bus stop very close by. Lots of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, 2 supermarkets close by. Hosts - extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble at all. Room - there are 6 in total and I stayed on the top floor. This is an old building so steep stairs, wonky walls etc. My room was very spacious with everything you could want. Spotlessly clean, simple, modernly decorated. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but that would be expected in a building of that age but no complains at all. Breakfast - you can have room only but I opted for breakfast and every day was well cooked and fresh. Very accomodating as I'm vegan. Overall great stay and exceptional value for all these reasons.

My friend and I stayed at Starlings for 3 nights- and it is by far the best B&B either of us have stayed in. The rooms were clean and fresh, the location is perfect and breakfast was incredible. Melina and Julie were amazing hosts- we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Arrived to a friendly greeting from Malina. We chose the top floor. A very nice room with en-suite. We enjoyed two very pleasant nights there. Superb breakfast with plenty of choice offered. I am a proper ‘grinding my own beans’ coffee drinker and the coffee offered was excellent. Lovely and clean everywhere A short walk from the esplanade and shops so a great location. Would definitely stay here again.

Great welcome. No on site parking but the hosts very knowledgable about best places to park and have available permits to buy for parking anywhere in zone c - we had no problem finding a parking place a few minutes walk away. The room ( we had room 2) was spacious and well presented. Bathroom modern with a great walk in shower. Breakfast is cooked to order and plentiful. Conveniently placed and a short walk to everywhere in Brighton and we had a wonderful few days. Would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

My partner and I stayed at Starling Guest House and definitely made the right choice Very warm and welcoming hosts that are both friendly but not intrusive. They made us very welcome and we had great conversations. The room is as described, fantastically clean as is the rest of the place, comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was superb, we were offered plenty of choice that was delivered to our table, nothing was too difficult and we were well looked after ! Would certainly come back and recommend to our friends.

Great location in Kemptown, Starlings is just minutes from the beach, from attractions such as the Pavilion and Pier, and from fantastic local bars and restaurants. Our comfortable first floor double room was spacious and bright, with full height windows offering a glimpse of the sea. Starlings has all the facilities you could require and more - extra hangers and additional pillows (without asking), daily chocolate treats on the hospitality tray and delicious breakfasts with a good range of options. What makes Starlings stand out, however, are owners Melina & Julie. From sharing top-tips on local highlights and hidden gems, to suggestions on excursions beyond Brighton, and friendly breakfast chat. You really couldn't ask for more warm and welcoming hosts. They made our stay at Starlings a real pleasure!

Just come back from a weekend stay at this lovely guest house. Melina & Julie are so welcoming, we were greeted by Melina on arrival and she knew exactly who we were using my first name when she opened the door. Our room was a really nice size and overlooked the street which was a bit noisy on the Saturday night but nothing the ladies can do about local yobbos!! The en suite was small but everything spotlessly clean and several little touches made it more of a home from home. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order but lots of other choices (cerial, fruit salad, toast & jam etc) too. The location is excellent, a few minutes to the sea front, 10 minute walk to old Steine. Lots of shops & eateries in St James's Street a few hundred metres away. There is a bus, no 7, stops almost outside and goes to North Street where all the shops are, very near Churchill Square (more shops) We were delighted to find, when we left, that the bus from the top of the road took us all the way home which was a real bonus - door to door in just over 2 hours. We would definately stay here again & would reccommend it too.
