The Gullivers Hotel

Location is very good, right by the sea and near the centre. 1 toilet between all the rooms in the building wasn't great. The lock to the front door of the building is broken so anyone from the street could just walk in.

Check in wasn’t very good, but the room was nice and slept well.

My partner booked this hotel and when I read the reviews I really wasn't looking forward to this stay, but I was totally surprised..we had a issue at the beginning where they checked someone into our room but was quickly rectified. The room itself is decent, nice bed, a TV, kettle, iron, nice size bathroom with hot water, towels shower gel shampoo the lot. It's not a 5 star hotel but you get what you pay for and I'd be happy to stay there again!

Probably one of the worst experiences of my life. There is no reception, the first man who met me was extremely rude. Nothing in the hotel works, everything is run down and destroyed. They have put a rug over parts of an exposed floor. The locks do not work and I have not been able to contact anyone about it so I have spent time trapped in my room because the place is too awful to even have a working phone number Absolutely an experience to avoid.

Booked this hotel for one night to stay with friends. Where do I start? On arrival, a suspicious looking man appeared in the doorway and was very funny about us checking in. You couldn’t open the door fully to our room because they had squeezed the third bedroom into a clearly too small room. The carpet was coming up at the corners. There was black mould around the whole shower. When I tried to speak to someone about the state of our room the staff were rude and unhelpful. They have been rude ever since as I feel I’ve been ripped off. Avoid this hotel at all costs, they should be ashamed at the state of their rooms and their appalling customer service.

Terrible place. They call themselves hotel but they don't even have reception to check you in. We waited 30 minutes to check innby phone. The rooms are Terrible, no curtains for the windows, people from next building can clearly see your business in the rooms. cold shower when called to fix it, they lied that someone going to come and fix it. Avoid it at all cost or prepare yourself you're booking Terrible sharing flat from bar landlord.

I don't know how long ago the photos were taken that are used on the website but the hotel certainly does not look like that now. This is false advertising. I booked this place based on the photos and what it had to offer. It shows a fresh modern place but it was actually dark and gloomy and very dated. I was disappointed. Having said that, we were greeted by a friendly fella who gave us our room key and the passcode to enter the property at night. We were given a ground floor room near the back so it was nice and quiet. The bed was comfy and the bedding was very clean and well pressed. We were given two large clean bath towels that were soft. There was a tray with bottles of water, plenty of PG tea bags, sachets of Nescafe coffee, generous amount of milks, two bars of Cadbury's dairy milk and two rocky road chocolate biscuits. The room had a TV but we could only get the U-Tube channel on. Their was a wardrobe with a few hangers in it. There was an iron and a table top ironing board. There were plenty of electrical sockets. This is a budget hotel and so you get what you pay for. It was okay for a night or two and the location of it was excellent.

This place is now a homeless shelter, my fault, I didn’t read the reviews before booking. The terrible thing is that there are many websites still offering rooms to book. Luckily I was able to find a room in a hotel for the night, otherwise I would have ended up stranded in Brighton. I know it is now a shelter because I went there and realised that it is not a hotel anymore.

Awful, no hot water in shower, no light in toilet/shower room, mattress didn’t fit base board, plug socket hanging off the wall with wires exposed, black mould around windows, crusty sock covering smoke alarm.
