The Lodge at Salhouse

A wonderful setting- beautifully decorated and spacious. Good outdoor dining too. We dined in tonight. Everything clean and great service. Service staff happy, polite and helpful. Very knowledgeable of menu and available drinks. Food outstanding. Will definitely return.

We booked The Lodge for my mums 80th birthday lunch. There were 16 of us. It was amazing from start to finish. The lovely bar area where we all met up and chatted. The place has gorgeous decor , right through to even the toilets. We had relatives arriving from all over but we weren't interrupted or rushed to table. The food was amazing , ( and we can be harsh critics) everyones dish looked fantastic. People are still talking about the food today. George the manager was working his socks off in the restaurant looking after everyone. It meant the world to us that this day was so special. Sad that you cant cut a birthday cake here, but in the end it didnt matter that much. Well done Lodge , you can see why you are busy. We will be back Thank you

We have been for lunch several times. Beautiful setting and table arrangements. Plenty of space and good atmosphere Food has always been plentiful hot and served by really nice staff. They have a very extensive menu and still manage to serve something not on their menu if you ask. Husband loves the tempura prawns served at The Black Boys and they managed to provide it at the Lodge when he asked. Brilliant customer relations.

We ate here Mon 15th April. It was incredibly busy with a great vibe. The young staff were fabulous. Very attentive without being overbearing. Nothing was a bother. The food was fabulous. We were spoilt for choice on the menu...I had the fish pie and my wife the short rib. Both excellent. If I have a negative comment it's that, as others have said, the portions are huge. Prices were good. All in all we had a wonderful meal and whole-heartedly recommend the Salhouse Lodge

Great anniversary Sunday lunch. Delicious food and the service was exceptional and attentive. Special thanks to Jenna for looking after us so well and would highly recommend to families and couples. The dining area well set out with plenty of room between the tables and nicely decorated.

A very nice meal out. Not perfect compared to the completion in wider Norwich area but a decent meal and the best in the Salhouse/ Wroxham area. Food - 4 Very nice food. Menu is maybe a little too broad and overpriced, but they do very well at the pub classics. Wouldn’t recommend going to far off piste from the traditional food. Portions are huge and if more power to you if you can do 3 course. Service -3.5 Decent enough although staff feel rushed at all times (it’s always busy). Incorrect drink order received but punctual and good gaps between courses. Ambience -3.5 Always busy and you can feel it when you are in there. But it’s very smart and decorated well.

I visited this restaurant on 30th March for a 50th birthday celebration, there was fourteen of us, six ordered burgers, with four sent back, as raw in the middle, these got replaced by fresh burgers, some still not cooked through. This then obviously delayed our eating experience and we felt disappointed with the restaurant. When these were ordered the staff never asked how rare or well done they were to cooked, so we expected them all to be cooked through and not raw. I did email the manager, who did, reply, but not sure anything will be done. See reply below, and photo of raw burger. We were celebrating a friends 50th, the place is nice but the food was terrible, there were 14 of us,6 burgers were ordered, 4 went back as very undercooked, the beef mince was very pink, no apology from the waitress or any member of staff, she just said ill get you another, when that came the burger was still not cooked through and it put me off eating it, expensive place £20 for an undercooked burger, i wont bother returning.

Went there for a family birthday celebration, the place was lovely and clean and warm the staff were very friendly, the food was another thing I had roast chicken with sausage and stuffing, vegetables, the sausage was cold along with the carrots, the roast potatoes could could of been smaller and I could not eat the Yorkshire pudding as it was to big and cold, my husband and another family member had the lamb and their lamb came out under cooked, we told the staff and they took it back and put it in the microwave to cook it a bit more, another family member had the chilli beef , the beef on the top was hot but the meat underneath was cold, we told the staff and they did bring out a new meal for her, the dessert were ok but the apple crumble was cold so to cap it of a big disappointment and we will not be going back again
