Kingscote Tourist Park and Family Units

Excellent little campground, shower units are brilliant. Very friendly staff. Will definitely come back here in future. Very handy for the beach; just across the road and a pizza place in town. Plenty of bars with live music. What’s not to like!

The park is located near Kingscote town and right next to a beach. A convenient location yet quiet and peaceful. We arrived during the check-in time stated in the confirmation email. However the office was closed as the operating hours were different in winter months. An envelope with my name on it was awaiting my arrival on the office door so we checked in smoothly. Just had to pop by the office the next morning to complete the registration. The park isn’t massive yet has many sites. Not too many were occupied at the time but more than those parks we had stayed earlier. Both toilets were being upgraded. Only 2 temporary toilets and 2 shower rooms were available. Sad to say that they weren’t quite sufficient even in low season. First time seeing the only area for cooking and sitting down to eat, namely the BBQ picnic area, being quite a bit of a distance from the only area for washing up, which was labelled as the camp kitchen. Luckily it wasn’t raining when we prepared our meals. Perhaps it was a temporary arrangement during renovation. Having said that, the BBQ picnic area was very nice, spacious and cosy. Wifi access was now provided but the strongest signal was at the BBQ area.

A small park which is very dated, amenities have not been updated in many years. The sites are not maintained, grass is very long in some sites. Maintenance is very poor in and around the park. Close to Kingscote, the water and a good walking/cycling track into town.

Good things: the park is lovely and quiet, owners were nice and helpful. Good positioning to tourist activities. Camping sites were reasonably large- good size for annex and to fit your car. Not so good: bathrooms are very run down and need some attention! Would go a long way if they were renovated a bit!

Good things: lovely camp kitchen, good supply of hot water, quiet location. Cabin - Bad things: live mice and mouse traps in the cabins. Mould growing in the bathroom. You have to supply your own toilet paper and dish detergent. The camp sites are extremely tight. Campervans and caravans had a hard time getting in and out and having an awning out meant you were encroaching on someone else's site.

This was a last minute booking for our campervan. We had a rented campervan and was suppose to stay in the National park but the roads were too rough for the campervan. The camp ground is clean and the toilets and showers were also clean and well tended too. As we were in a campervan we didn’t use any of the kitchen areas. The staff were incredibly helpful, we left an item on the clothes line and they sent it to our home address.

Con is so friendly. We had a lovely friendly welcome. Thank you Con😀 Beautifully clean facilities. Really good environment. Would definitely stay there again. The sites are comfortably spaced. Lots of people there and all very considerate and quiet. No night disturbances. 😁
