Manta Bargara

It's a very long time since this was ever a 5 Star as per the brochure in the room. The Televisions or flat screens we fine they did their job the one in the bedroom sometimes had difficulty with local television, the one in the main room used a Foxtel box so no rear problems. Looked clean and tidy but on closer inspection there were some concerns. The managers really probably need to re-think why they are there, clearly they have not been into this room. When challenged they accused my partner who works in health as being a very rude person. I personally have never heard him be rude only have a sensible respectable conversation.

We stayed two nights. The positive is the location which is close to beach, cafes and park. Sadly, simple things like a reasonable TV, light bulbs working and a comfortable bed were lacking. Be prepared, the middle units only have sliding doors and no insect screens. You have to have the doors open and experience insects or use the AC which seemed crazy in winter.

For the price a few things missing. Very uncomfortable beds. Spa Pool Cold. 1 Ply toilet paper same as the public toilets on the beach. Bathmat was the size of a postage stamp.1 face cloth small things I know if you want tourists step up these little things. Great spot and location locals very friendly.

We loved our brief stay at this location. We are already planning ways we can return. Clean resort, obviously run with care by the management. Rooms are very comfortable and well presented. My only complaint - why do people build hotel rooms with no bathroom doors? I do not understand why anyone would want the toilet and shower not separate to the bedroom? But that's my only complaint - other than that the room is fantastic and perfect for our family. Location was great - ocean view and easy walk to a great cafe.

Arrived after hours, which had been confirmed and organised through a conversation earlier in the day. Arrived after hours as planned and made our way to our room to discover it was unmade. Three phone calls later and the disgruntled management (husband and wife) met us at reception, where they proceeded to bicker in front of us. Computers had been turned off that day which apparently meant they couldn't get into them. The wife attempted to find a room, literally picking up keys and visiting rooms. Whereas the husband made offensive comments, making us feel like an inconvenience arriving after hours, saying things like "it's not their fault". No compensation was made or offered. Apparently we were assigned to an upgraded room.. Our original room had sea views, the alternative did not. This was the main reason for booking - living in Longreach, sea views are a priority. Absolutely disappointed and disheartened. Would not recommend.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting the region for our wedding anniversary. Whilst I read mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, decided to book anyway as it appeared to be the nicest hotel in the region, and when it's also the most expensive, it has to be the best, right? How wrong we were.... Firstly, the room was not clean at all..... in a world that is just recovering from a pandemic, you would think every measure was taken to reassure guests. Most places I have stayed at recently have a little card saying something along the lines of "sanitized for your protection" and have covid safe measures in place....but not here....not even a bottle of sanitizer at reception. The room itself was filthy - the windows looked like they had not been cleaned in at least 6 months, and had a layer of dirt all over them making it difficult to enjoy the ocean view. All the surfaces had barely been wiped, and had grease streaks all over the benchtops, then all the walls had marks and handprints on them. The floor was filthy and our shoe stuck to the floor as you walked on the tiles. The room had a musty smell, and doors were left open by housekeeping to let the seabreeze in. Next, the layout - very akward! Every room is a triangle, and with every piece of furniture being a square of rectangle like bed, bedside, coffee table, couch, tv unit etc....it makes for very strange placement in the room.....just did not feel right at all. Also, the beds are only double - whilst I am sure this is in the fineprint, most 4-5 star places that I have stayed at have at least a queen if not king bed. Probably all that can fit in the akward size rooms. The fittings and furnishings also were also in poor repair.....for example there was a coverplate on the entry door that fell off every time it was open or closed. The striker was loose, and the door was akward to open. The tiles had dirty grout, and the mirrors were worse for wear with some of the reflective backing coming off near the edges. The drains were filthy and the shower head was barely a trickle. Overall, the rooms need tome TLC. The place has the makings of a nice place in a good location, walking distance to the foreshore and restaurants, but definitely let down by the way the rooms are kept and setup. At $240 a night, definitely overpriced for what your getting, and have stayed at mush nicer for much cheaper. Would definitely NOT stay again and would NOT recommend.

We are coffee and bed snobs. Manta Bargara ticked all boxes. Best ever luxury beds. Coffee machines in every apar**ent. Our 3 night stay extended to 8 nights due to emergent family events. Our hosts, Chris & Warner were extremely helpful and accommodating despite peak holiday season bookings. A definite return for us. Thank you.

The apar**ent is very spacious and the reception staff were very friendly. The master bedroom had a TV and a jacuzzi, which was nice. The location is great and it was a walking distance to parks, restaurants and beach. The sport equipments and beach towels etc are available for hire at a cost, so it’s better to bring your own. We are pleased with our stay and would love to return.

We booked 4x apar**ents in the complex for 7x days over Chris**as. Our “penthouse” was apar**ent 501 and it is not a penthouse. The cleaning team weren’t done till 3pm, so don’t expect to get in any earlier. The balcony doesn’t fit the table & 6 chairs provided. In comparison to 505 where other family were staying, we had 1/3 of the living space inside and out. When we moved furniture to get more space, we had to clean the dust, debris & grime from under chairs that hadn’t been moved for a long time. Broken blinds in rooms that face the East, so a 4.30am get up for summer. The televisions don’t work consistently. Sound and picture drops in and out, especially on the miniature bedroom versions. This is especially prominent in rain storms. Wifi only works within the lounge room space. Prepare to have every child and adult crowding into the small living space to use your daily allowance of 6GB. Water pools at the front door, a lake to navigate after rain at your screen door, because this unit does not come with a gated area, like all the other units, yet the same price was paid for the mousehouse that was 501. You get more space in lower units, even the Eastern side, as they have balconies that wrap around. Management were absent most of the days, but quick to blame us for lift outages (which occurred most days) or to tell us not to use the umbrellas around the pool. When approached regarding the extreme disparity between penthouses booked for the same price we were told that we were fortunate to be amongst VIP guests, as a politician was staying, in ironically, a bigger penthouse than us. Cords are exposed from the tv to foxtel etc, so kids need close supervision at all times. Lovely views, convenient location, two car parks, offer of housekeeping mid stay. Would stay again, but would ask for written communication that confirms you are not in 501 or 401.
