Lovely stay, we enjoyed very much, Ting the manager is really helpful and welcoming. My fur baby Bobbie had a really good time, just like home:)

The Madsen Retreat provides a quiet, comfortable room that is well appointed (kettle, coffee maker, refrigerator, smart TV, fast wi-fi) and includes a continental breakfast that is served in your room. Ting offers a personal welcome and helps with your bags. Everything you could want from a B&B.

We enjoyed the stay very much. The reception is courteously friendly. The room is furnished with style and elegance and very clean. One of the highlights is the individual breakfast, which is brought to the room at the desired time - with announcement via SMS. The hostess provides lots of valuable information about Penguin and excursions in the surrounding area. A first-class address.

It's a guest house, with 3 private rooms, and a common area downstairs if you choose to use it. The host Ting was in contact before we arrived to find out arrival time. On arrival, she met us and showed us to our room. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room had ocean views and a nice cross breeze from the open windows. Very modern, king-sized bed, and roomy. The room was very comfortable with good sleep quality. Complimentary continental breakfast, which you could order the night before with a form, rounded out the pleasant stay. Oh yeah, easy walking distance to eateries, although 2 or 3 aren't open Mondays and Tuesdays. Considering the room rate, this place is EXCEPTIONAL value. Would recommend.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions and have found this property to be one of the best I have stayed at in Tasmania. I travel frequently with work and love staying here. The views, a complimentary drink and option of a continental breakfast is brilliant. Rooms are always clean and I just love the view. Ting who manages this place will do anything to make my stay the best she can. I have not only recommended this place to my friends and family, but my colleagues and senior managers at my company. I will be staying here whenever I am in the NW.

We only stayed here for a night after we arrived Tassie from ferry. Ting made us feel so welcome and comfortable. She offered us hot tea and some small biscuits. Our bedroom was nice and cozy, super clean with nice Seaview. Room is lovey with simple but modern decorations. Only 5 minutes walk from the town centre. We walked to the beach and had dinner in the local restaurant. Ting is very helpful with local knowledge. And this place it’s a dog friendly place, during our stay we saw other guests stayed with their dog. Definitely we will be back. Thanks Ting for being such a lovely and wonderful host.

This was my second time to stay here. Host provided us a lovely stay. Ting was a lovely host who introduced us to the room, gave suggestions for dinner and served a great cooked breakfast in the morning. The room is comfortable and well appointed too with everything you’d need. Ting made us feel right at home and we felt welcome again the moment we arrived. A clean and gorgeous place. I would highly recommend!

Its my first time to travel to Penguin with my girlfriend, we were very lucky to stay here. We had a very comfortable room overlooking ocean. Host who’s very attentive to keep room clean and tidy. Best service I have ever had, we got spoiled by the host. Breakfast is optional, you can choose continental or cooked breakfast. We just spent one night, but it was perfect. Well worth the money and recommend anyone to stay here

Back from the main street but over looking the town and ocean. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was roomy. We missed meeting Ting during our stay but Chris was more than welcoming to us. Quite at night except for the occasional train passing literally through the town. We were in town for a family history exhibition and would stay at Madsen Retreat if we had to come again to Penquin.
