Reflections Byron Bay - Holiday Park

We chose this park as it has not been commercialised- no pools of jumping pillows, lots of maintained gardens & bushland. A bit like camping in a rainforest. There are multiple camp kitchens and the amenities are excellent. Great showers, plenty of toilets, and the laundry facilities were great. Direct walking access onto the beach and a cafe at the entrance with delicious breakfast, coffee, smoothies etc. Walk / ride into town where there are so many restaurants, cafes & grocery stores. If you don’t want to use a car you wouldn’t have to. There are plenty of bike hire places aswell.

Excellent Holiday Park right on the beach and close to the CBD. The reception was very helpful and signed us up to the loyalty scheme for discount. We also had one of the best sites at the very end of the caravan powered sites. Backed up to the fence overlooking the beach and right next door to the bush. We had wildlife visit us the whole time we were there which was 2 nights. Bush Turkeys and Water Dragons were our most common visitors. The amenities were great and very clean. We didn't use the camp kitchen but this place has everything you'd want or need. A local pizza van came in one night and cooked pizzas on site so we had to try them and knocked one down with a few bevies.

Really good thanks for the invite. Really enjoyed our stay on an unpowered sight. Toilets and showers were my favourite with really good and consistent water pressure. Very polite campsite, when I lost my football lots of people helped me to get it back. Out of the tree. Not the very top. But near the top. I got it back. It’s a Bunnings ball and I could have bought a new one but I don’t have to now. I got it back. Thanks for having us and that.

We booked a powered site for our motorhome online. We were very warm welcomed at the reception - nice tips for activities included. Our site was the best we had on our road trip from Cairns to Sydney. We had a brilliant view over the nice beach with a gorgeous sunset for dinner! The parc and facilities were nice and clean. Bayron Bay is worth coming at all times.

Really love this holiday park and have been staying here for over 40 years. It is not a very big park and is in a lovely location. Close to Byron Bay shops (1km) and on the road to the lighthouse - Australia’s most easterly point. But it does have some issues:- Being an old park situated on crown land with lots of trees the sites can go from very small to moderate size. A lot of people come here and find sites cramped and hard to get onto. If you have a larger rig I would recommend inspecting before booking if possible. The beach at Byron has suffered from erosion over the last few years. This has caused some loss of amenity in this park. Its viewing deck and stairs were removed due to storm damage, as was its communal cooking/tv lounge. It now has temporary stairs which are verging on dangerous and have been for some time. Hopefully this will eventually be resolved. Unfortunately the money is being pumped into ever more cabins and not general infrastructure. Price will also be an issue for many. This appears to be treated as the cash cow for the whole organisation and prices here can be upto twice the price of other parks within the same group -‘it’s Byron Bay!’ So if you’re on a tight budge this is probably not for you. Not too many grey nomads or backpackers doing it on the cheap here.

We were hoping to arrive by 4pm in the afternoon for a 3 night stay in our caravan - but due to a hideous traffic jam between Brisbane and Byron - we weren’t going to be able to arrive until after 7.30pm - so I rang the after hours number to see if I they had a spare cabin we could stay instead. I spoke to an extremely helpful young lady who I think her name was Kirsten - who was super helpful and understanding that we were travelling with a 4 month old and trying to set up the van so late at night was going to be difficult - so not only did she find us a cabin she applied the cost of our site for the first night to the cabin - she could have not been more helpful. Restores my faith in caravan park management after a disastrous two weeks at the Bargara Breeze Park.

Awful experience - gas lighted by rude woman and turned away within opening hours. Called ahead to book a spot saying we’d be there from 4:45-5. Woman agreed that was fine and we could pay on arrival. Slightly delayed, we arrived at 5:10, and were confident as opening hours on the website and at the site said open till 6pm. Went into the office, and was told the office was closed - and that I had said I would be there at 4pm (others in my car confirmed I had not). I said this, and woman was immensely rude and turned us away. I’m not normally one to review except if an experience was exceptionally good, but this woman’s rudeness really stuck with me. We ended up at the first sun holiday park which was substantially cheaper, clean and friendly.

We hired a cabin for 2 but got a 2 bedroom family unit. It was very expensive $760 for 2 nights! It was our anniversary so we thought we’d splurge but it wasn’t a romantic getaway. Our cabin was in between 2 roads tge in and out with gates on either side people stopping to use the scanner. Bedroom right beside this. At night it did stop. No hairdryer in bathroom. Pretty basic for what we paid. Won’t do that again. Pluses are right beside the beach. Can walk into town easily. So make sure you’re ok with all this and check what cabin you’re getting.

We stayed in a cabin for 4 people . On arrival the floors needed cleaning and the general cleanliness was missing. Cabins are basic even tho’ the camp site are charging over $300 a night ! Amenities around the camp are clean. Stairs to the beach are an accident waiting to happen , uneven , poor hand rail , too deep , too steep. This is the only access to the beach from the camp site . Negotiating the stairs with young children and the beach gear that goes with them was a nightmare .
